Maybe scratch team can create chat rooms where we can talk with our friends!

Wether it is public or private, I don't think they will be added.

I don't know if what you are talking about is rejected in the stickies, but I am also sure that the moderators are busy enough. However, there are some safe chat programs all around Scratch, and Paddle2See actually created a good list of whitelist words that others can use.

Why not just use profile comments?

PMing and cloud chats, as per the above two posts and the stickies, are rejected.

If you mean chat rooms that anyone can join, no support. ST's moderation of the main site isn't great as it is, I can't imagine they'd do a very good job with chat rooms considering how full they'd be. If you mean private chatrooms, it's already been rejected by the sticky.

Thanks for the explanations! This sums up pretty well why we haven't made chat rooms/private messages. Here's a link to the thread the quote came from - it's helpful to include for those who aren't familiar with that thread.
