A Scratch Machine?????
I know that this is i the I'm making category, (I'M NOT MAKING ONE) but I thought it was an interesting topic. Recently I have seen some .sb2 to .exe converters and thought: What if someone took the exe files, and put them on a console? Can I hear your thoughts on this? It would probably require a keyboard rather than a controller though. Maybe one of you would make it even?

So are you saying something like a Scratch game console? That would be pretty cool, but it would also be pretty tough to do, I'd imagine.

Yeah, I know. But I have a way to do it. Of course I'm to lazy too

Have you heard of the Raspberry Pi?

A Scratch Machine?????
An EXE file is an executable file for Windows. I'm assuming that consoles have different instruction sets, but don't take my word for it.

A Scratch Machine?????
I am aware that a console needs different executables and it wouldn't work correctly on say, an Xbox. An EXE file is an executable file for Windows. I'm assuming that consoles have different instruction sets, but don't take my word for it.
But there is a miniature super computer called the Raspberry Pi that is about 5 x 4 inches long. It is just as capable as about a Windows Vista. It can run exe files and even has its own OS. If someone were to make a program too help manage the games, then it could easily run these games and animations.

See the thing is, the Raspberry Pi runs Linux (generally Raspbian), which does not run exes (without a specially program like Wine and even then I've heard that Wine isn't great on the Pi). However, there is a Windows 10 IOT OS for th Pi 2, but from what I've heard it's not as amazing as one may think (can't do a proper search right now because I've got a nasty headache and can't focus well). I don't believe Raspbian can run Scratch 2.0, either.I am aware that a console needs different executables and it wouldn't work correctly on say, an Xbox. There may be a way to “fake” it (somehow have Scratch open up when you login), but it seems like an inefficient prospect and I can't really see how you'd be able to open a specific project automatically without serious tinkering in Scratch itself, either.
Anyways, those are my thoughts, and whether or not I'm right, I dunno. How were you planning on approaching it? I'd be interested to see.

The original Xbox runs on a x86 chip, meaning it can technically run windows, meaning that it would be possible for EXEs to run on it. However, the xbox 360 uses powerpc, a different architecture then x86, but it would be possible to use Windows NT Powerpc editions, but those are from the mid-nineties, most likely unable to run modern applications. The xbox one uses x86-64 which is compatible with x86, so it should be fine.I am aware that a console needs different executables and it wouldn't work correctly on say, an An EXE file is an executable file for Windows. The Raspberry Pi is unable to run windows (other then Windows CE) as it is based on ARM, so it wouldn't be possible to run EXEs on it, without use of a virtualization technology, which would most likely run at a incredibly slow pace, as the ARM and x86 architecture is different.
tl;dr: The XBOX/XBOX ONE can run windows, the raspberry pi can't.

Supposedly someone got Windows 95 (98?) to work on it, but it took FOREVER to load and wasn't at all practical. The original Xbox runs on a x86 chip, meaning it can technically run windows, meaning that it would be possible for EXEs to run on it. the Raspi with touchscreen would make a good platform but the problem is that Raspi doesn't run Scratch 2.0 easily. Maybe the new Pi3 will be fast enough to run it, I haven't tried one yet.
