Synopsis

OrcaCreative, as you might imagine, is a creative server. Our focus centers around a building community and we have multiple worlds to facilitate this. This server is not a plot server, plots are only used for contests. WorldEdit is available to all members throughout the creative worlds. In addition, our atmosphere is family-friendly, no rude posting allowed.

Worlds

Spawn - Starting world, complete the quick intro to access the rest of the server
FB - Superflat creative world.
Wild - Default terrain creative world
Sv - Generic survival world for… surviving!!
A - Contains fun challenges that you can gain prizes from: dueling, parkour and mazes. Also contains pvp arenas
Contest - A plot world for our semi-frequent contests
SkyB - SkyBlock world
HSV - Hardcore survival with a twist, when you die your builds in this world are rolled back

Rules

1 No griefing.
2 No harassment.
3 No rude language; we are PG.
4 No offensive buildings.
5 Do not beg for ranks.
6 Do not advertise other servers.
7 Respect the staff and other members.
8 Have Fun! :^)
9 Do not purposefully lag the server.
10 Hacked items are not allowed; this includes items not obtained in normal gameplay.
11 No excessive CAPS or spamming.
12 Starting drama, controversial topics, and hate speech are not allowed.
13 No politics.
14 Do not argue with staff or other members.
All rule breaking is interpreted by staff.

This server is a lot like the old Paradise server that a lot of scratchers played on back in the day.

There are around 11 staff members, of which 4 have scratch accounts.
The old server, paradise, had a large amount of scratchers on it, so we are currently in the process of inviting them over to the new server.

That sounds kinda fun. I might give it a shot.

2016 Elections:
Hi everyone, if you have walked around FB recently, you will have
noticed all of the political billboards and such. Well, it’s election
time around Orca Creative and we have three eager candidates!

Martin the Sheep
Martin is back! After a confusing 2012 run, Martin has learned a lot.
Martin is heavily against griefers above all else and would like to see
oddity park expanded.


Tim and French
Tim has expressed that his number one concern on Orca Creative is
safety. Tim has teamed up with French as well, being the only candidate
so far to have a running mate other than their own mother.

George the Horse
The sensible choice as his slogan goes, George is an unmistakable
promoter of Pink Glass, which candidate French is heavily against.
Pink Glass is one of George’s largest supporters.

Hi everyone, today we are opening Veteran applications to all current builders. The link is here. You must write at least 50 words and provide your minecraft username. Applications will hopefully be read twice a month. Since there might be confusion on exactly what to write, here is a good sample application:

I joined Orca Creative on June 25th 2015. Since then, I have built many houses and Game Crazy chain stores. I love the community and I stop by the server everyday just to chat with the many nice people on the server. As a Veteran, I will be a good example to builders and guests and help them out when needed. Veteran is the bridge between regular players and staff so I will make sure that I follow the rules and make sure everyone else does as well. Thanks for reading my application.

Survival is here!

Hi everyone, today we are announcing our brand new survival world! Head on over to /Warp Survival to get started. Of course, the same basic rules apply: No griefing, no stealing etc. I think we have done a pretty good job in keeping items from the creative worlds out of survival, but if you find an exploit let us know.

The Fortress Contest:
Greetings everyone! Today we are announcing the Fortress Contest. As you can tell, the theme of the contest is fortresses! Whether it be a safe house in a zombie apocalypse or a shining castle, all fortresses are welcome. To get started, hop on the server and type /plot auto. Of course there are several ground rules you should know first before jumping in:

1. All contest entries must be fortresses. If an entry is not a fortress, it will be disqualified. If you aren't sure if your build qualifies or not, ask an admin.
2. A maximum of 2 players can work together.
3. All staff is free to enter, but Admin and Jr Admin entries will not be considered since Admins are the judges.
4. Your entry does not need to fill the whole plot, but don't make it too minimal.

When you are finished with your plot, type /plot done. Finish by July 3rd, judging will occur on July 10th.

The winner will receive a gold star prefix, a polar bear disguise and their build featured in the Paradise City area.

Updating with plugins suck. I actually own a Spigot server with just my friends.

Paper Spigot 1.13 has added async chunk loading which has also contributed to a fair share of issues. This update has been significantly more involved that previous ones

Not at the moment. Since 1.14 is a relatively small update, we should be able to update within the month. Currently waiting on our server software (paper) to update. From there I will have to check plugin compatibility.
