Will Scratch 2.0 projects work properly?
Well, I mean for example, ROBLOX. ROBLOX has a sandbox version of LUA, but in each update, ROBLOX ends up breaking old places by changing the LUA code completely.

I'm worried that if I shared New Penguin Dash (new project that I'm working on) right where Scratch 3.0 comes up, Scratch 2.0 made scripts would be broken.
So, I was asking, will Scratch 2.0 projects be compatible? Will Scratch 3.0 keep the Scratch 2.0 blocks?
If Scratch 3.0 is incompatible with Scratch 2.0 projects, then that would mean that New Penguin Dash will need a lot of re-scripting, and my fans would be very impatient.
If Scratch 3.0 is compatible with Scratch 2.0 projects, then THANK YOU SCRATCH TEAM! You saved so much time for me!

I'm very worried on this problem right now, IN FACT, I'm VERY VERY worried about this problem!
I discourage the usage of Javascript because of how too fast its gone for color-sensing projects. Previous Penguin Dash games that I made would be unplayable because the player would fall through the floor on Javascript, just because it uses color-sensing scripts.

So, will Scratch 3.0 keep its original pace as Scratch 2.0? If so, then my time is saved! If it acts the same as Javascript, then I'll have to add ground sprites for the player and everything else to stand on for it to work properly.

So, that's about it. If Scratch 3.0 doesn't do any of those things, then thank you Scratch Team. You saved me tons of time and effort.

This will indeed be a huge advancement to Scratch. I'm counting on it.

Scratch 3/Blocks is a new development from Google not related to Phosphorus, ScratchHTML5Player, and 2.0. Which means even though it's JavaScript, color sensing will work. Also since it's different sadly 2.0 projects will not be directly compatible, but they will probably make a converter

Where did you see that? I read that they were making sure old projects are compatible.

I'm curious as to what it will bring.
I don't suppose you can transition over to some really powerful google servers?

Antitrust laws exist to protect the public from being stripped of choice, their effectiveness is another story which i will not be getting into.
Google doesn't have a track record of making people miserable, in terms of companies to worry about, this one isn't even worth mentioning.

Anyways, can't wait to see what happens with this!

I have seen them make some bad desitions, but not for an open source nonprofit. Also, they try to fix them.

No, its going to be compatible, like 1.x to 2.x (squeak to flash)

Will Scratch 3 have it's own NEW and improved website? Or will it be a lot like the current design on the front page?

According to @thisandagain the projects are asynchronous. So the site will look like the current design on the front page but Scratch 3.0 doesn't make a difference
