my people

what is it that got you into graphic design? for me, i've been unable to draw cartoons, and for that reason i just started designing jerseys, logos, wallpapers, all loads of stuff. it's really fun to make a logo good enough that no one notices it; that means you've done a good job.

It started with me wanting to create thumbnails like my friend dstpario. Now i make a lot of logos, and I found a variety of editors that i use and i'm pretty happy with my work now

that's wicked, man!

what programs do you use? i can't use Photoshop as my main because I don't have the money, so I use GIMP. I still use MS Paint for super tiny touch up details, but most of the time i be sticking with GIMP.

mostly browser-based ones like PicMonkey and Pizap .. I have photoshop but never really use it cause i don't know how to work it : P … and for GIMP, i kept trying to get it, but when it said loading brushes when i opened it for the first time it didn't work. I'll actually try again

i wish i could make a logo for a big company XD

OH MAN i was the same with GIMP when I was really little; i had no idea how to use it. i promise you the sooner you can learn GIMP/Photoshop, the better you will be like, 5 to 10 years down the line haha

I've definitely been thinking about it and have a few strands of pixel-art here and there; I have access to both Photoshop, Illustrator, and GIMP.

In my opinion and starting artist should go with the simple system of GIMP and then move on to either image manipulating software like Adobe Photoshop, or to a proper graphic program like Adobe Illustrator; yes they cost money, but they can pay off due to the really high demand for graphical art.

Oh (i have both illustrator and photoshop) I'll try getting GIMP again.

EDIT: Dang, it froze at ‘looking for data files: brushes’ again

Woohoo, it worked but it took awhile.

Have ya'll ever heard of Inkscape or Krita?

Inkscape is a free vector graphics program, and it's pretty awesome.

Krita is more of a “drawing” program - like artistic stuff so I haven't used it as much, but it has some really cool features.

Inkscape is great for vectors but nothing more for me. I learned GIMP/Photoshop and I'll be danged if I want to relearn another program at this point haha.
