How do I delete sprites?

How do I delete a sprite?

Right click and select delete from the menu.

That is a great question!!

Here's the solution….

In a word - you can't. If you created a Sprite for your program then that Sprite must stay around forever otherwise future users of your program would never get to see it!

Here's what to do …

Make the first command when the program runs for all your Sprites a HIDE command.
Then, whenever you need a Sprite to appear issue the Create A Clone command.
Clones CAN be deleted. The command is under the CONTROL area and it is simply ‘DELETE THIS CLONE’.

The regular programming that you might do around your Sprite should be moved to the ‘WHEN I START AS A CLONE’ control command.

If you want the sprite to get out for good then right-click and pick delete.
However, if you just want it to disappear, then go to looks and find the hide block. It looks like this:

To delete a sprite, drag it into the scripts menu.

To delete a clone, use this:

 delete this clone

To make it disappear, use this:

 hide

or

 set [ghost v] effect to (100)

^^ The ghost effect doesn't work, you can still see what they're saying.

You cannot right click…

If you are on a Mac, then use Ctrl + Click

Another way is to click the Scissors button, then when your cursor turns into a pair of scissors, click the sprite you want to delete.
