As much as I like this series and the great ideas and plot of the show, the military stuff often bores me. I guess this isn't so much a show for me, although I do love most of it. The best thing about this show is the relationship between Ed and Al. It's a bit overhyped in my opinion, but I'd be lying if I said I couldn't see why. Overall, it's a pretty great anime
Relationships between characters in any fandom are overhyped.

I already did that. But the file got corrupted
Either way, my second favorite anime is about people brutally murdering each other to become god
Characters murdering each other to become god? The idea of that reminds me of Death Note, which is a very dark anime.
Oh, wow. I'm scared to watch all the way through FMA when there are so many characters who die! D: How many episodes are there?

Also, I can't get over the fact that your icon is an insane Maka from Soul Eater. That was my favorite show until I stopped watching it many months ago.

It'll make you cry at the end
You should also mention that Brotherhood has 64.
Isn't it just a remake? Why would it have more episodes? Sorry, I'm ignorant about this series.
It's hard to describe, but basically, the original series was made while the manga was still being made, (which is why there is a lot of filler at the beginning, to slow down catching up) but when it did catch up the story goes in a completely different way. Brotherhood is a more faithful adaptation of the manga and goes into much more depth.

Both are great, though if I had to pick, I'd like Brotherhood a little bit more. I highly recommend watching both, but watch the original series first since Brotherhood skims a lot of the early stuff until a specific point in the story, and it's still really good in its own way.
Personally, I prefer 2003 since it went into more depth at the beginning and I found the characters to be better
Brotherhood was boring to me
I've heard people say almost unanimously that Brotherhood is better. That's surprising! I guess I can't judge yet since I have yet to see the series.
I actually hear a lot of people on the internet say that they prefer 2003 because of the characters, which I can understand. I guess the reason I don't like the 2003 series as much is because I personally think the plot got kinda stupid towards the end and it felt like it sorta fell apart. I also don't care for the ending, but that's just me.

This thread exists!! YAY!! Only seen the 2003 anime. No manga, no Brotherhood (yet). Don't really have a favorite character. Riza (Hawkeye) is cool though. :3

Very long indeed. Imma go continue it a bit.
I have only seen half of the first episode of FMA(B)….. The graphics were better, but there's not much else I can judge. One thing I don't like is how Al sounds kinda like a girl.. just a little.. (dubbed)

I prefer Brotherhood over the original since I prefer the adaptations to be true to the original source. I like it because it is more canon in other words.
