F4Fs are fine. You can choose to not accept them, nobody's going to force you to do that, and they are aren't annoying. If you are campaigning against them, then you are once again saying that scratch is about fame because you don't want un-authentic followers. A follow for follow is a request for friendship in many cases.
And then there are anti-F4F, which, like AAEs, are worse then the original problem. All you're doing is making drama out of someone elses business. Does it really matter that other people are not receiving authentic followers because they support F4F? How does this affect you at all?
Just move on and stop causing drama on a website for 8-year-olds.
People who are anti-f4f believe that Scratch isn't about fame, and that follows should be for if you like a user's projects, so you can see when new ones come out or what other projects they like.
That is the main purpose for following. But like many things on Scratch, the ST doesn't have strict regulations about what reasons you can follow for.
Precisely.

What if some random person is trying to gather followers or surround themselves with good people, and they decide that instead of just following that person, they request F4F. The other Scratcher goes to check out the F4F supporter, and they like their projects, and they decide to accept.

There's different kinds of people who do different kinds of F4F.
I can understand that example of F4F, but not if it´s just following someone to get a follow back without caring about the projects, and just about the follow count.

Hello! For the last couple of month's, I've had it where at the end of each month I would add up all my views on all my released projects and post that number on my profile. It got me thinking about how it would be cool if there was a section in every scratcher's profile where it showed that players stats. This would be things like overall number of views, favorites, loves, etc. I think this could be very useful to many scratchers to quickly be able to see how their doing. Of course, I don't know if the website is set up for being able to do all of this, so this may not even be possible. If it is though, that would be very cool. Thank you for considering!

I support this idea! This will show how popular you are! Someone needs to add this.

No, that's exactly the point. Its already not allowed
You can't just stop something from happening. If people decide to brag, its there loss.
People don't brag regularly. Sure its happened a couple of times, but most people have common sense and aren't snobbish jerks. If they couldn't brag about their views and likes because we got rid of that (that's a terrible idea please don't even suggest it), they'd find some other way to make other people feel bad.

While yes, people will always find ways to brag about stuff, the problem is how easy we make it for them to brag, and how much stuff we give them to brag about. The easier it is to brag, and the more stuff there is to brag about, the more bragging will exist.

Why do you assume everyone is some kind of jerk? There's a thing that exists, and its called decency. Most people have it, and wont brag.
Its the same people that brag, so increasing things to brag about isnt going to change the amount of people that brag because its the same people that are doing it.

There are lots of jerks in the world. I have had the misfortune of facing a lot of them. That's why I am currently homeschooled. So don't tell me that most kids have the decency not to rub their accomplishments in other's faces.
How do you know that it's always the same people that will brag? How do you know that adding more stats won't tempt more people to brag? That's like saying adding more candy to a pile of candy will always attract the same people, no matter how much candy is in the pile.

I do knw people wont brag because there's already minimal (if any) bragging.

I didn't say that, I just said that there are more jerks in the world than you claim. And besides, you don't have to be a dedicated jerk to brag. Don't forget this is a kids site. Kids are (generally) more immature than adults (and there are some pretty immature adults out there, too). Even if the kid doesn't mean to be a jerk, a kid might still brag. Kids are kids, and they just want to show off their accomplishments to others, and they don't realize that it's not socially acceptable to go around bragging. When you were younger, didn't you love to show off your cool drawing or awesome arts-and-crafts project with your parents? Didn't you get a sense of pride from telling your friends and family about how you beat all your other classmates in a footrace or how your team got the most points in basketball?

KingOfAwesome58219 wrote:

How do you know this won't get worse? You claim that there won't be any more bragging when this is added, but provide no evidence to your claim.

If bragging wasn't a problem in the ST's eyes, then why did they hide the followers/following numbers, the number of comments, the number of projects above 100 in a studio, the number of curators in a studio, and even rounded the post count in the forums?

AE studios are fine. All they are is a just a studio that has a goal. And they might “spam up your studios on a project” but nobody actually goes and thinks, “wow this project is in The Elite Studio,” how cool. In fact, the only reason you'd want that is to get more fame, so you just played yourself!
You can remove your project from the studio if you like, that's not hard.

And AAE are just stupid. Like really, you're going to use the entire idea of AE to create a campaign against AE? All your doing is ruining all the reasons you don't like AEs in the first place.
I have two main problems with AE. 1: they fulfill the entire purpose of the “Explore section,” (although that needs some updates), and 2: They have no main theme. Actually, people do think that. A common misconception about AEs is that they make you famous. As much as I can say I agree, I can't. By your logic, campaigning against bullying is “stupid.”

KingOfAwesome58219 wrote:

F4Fs are fine. You can choose to not accept them, nobodies going to force you to do that, and they are aren't annoying.
That's literally like creating an anti-mosquito studio because they are annoying and some people live with them.

I once again disagree, wanting to agree. I don't want unauthentic followers, but just because you have a lot of friends, does not mean you are famous. Those of us who campaign against it believe that, as you stated, “unauthentic” followers are not proper.
I disagree with the comparison. Mosquitoes are much more annoying than F4F or AE.

KingOfAwesome58219 wrote:

Back to this whole idea of fame: Sure the theme of scratch is not gain as many followers as you can, but having many followers tells you that you have accomplished something. Being known by many people is a reasonable goal, and I see no reason why it's frowned upon (unless you aren't using scratch for it's purpose at ALL). Seeing your number of followers is absolutely fine, as well as your views. Its an accomplishment and a convenience, not a way to check if you are famous.
There you go, and stop spouting “scratch isn't about fame” everywhere and take a moment to think about it.
Kaj? Seriously, Fame is not always good. I understand your point, but just because it's a reasonable goal, does not mean it's the purpose.I have taken a moment to think about it and your points have done nothing to sway me. F4F and AE are only slightly related to fame.

And I give one last point.
It's okay to see how a single project is doing, because it is constructive. Your entire collection? That's looking for fame.
I stand by my reasons, and maintain my status. No support.
Incorrect. Campaigning against bullying IS GOOD because it is doing unavoidable emotional damage to people. Need I go on?

While all this is true what about the statistics being shown in my stuff?
That way no-one could brag
