Where can I find Earthbound?
IF I am correct, Earthbound is the first game in the Mother series. I've been wanting to play it for years now, and after playing Toby Fox's Undertale, I'm even more determined to play it. So does anyone know how to obtain this game? Probably ROMs, but knowing the best would help. If the game's in English, that'd be great.
Thanks,

Well great, the only one I have is a GBA. And I've heard they're not easy to find. I know ROMs are illegal but meehhhhh…

The legality of ROMs and emulation vary fairly considerably. One could argue that using them is more a matter of personal ethics given how little actual enforcement there is.

Just emulate. It's free and you won't go to prison. Also it's better than Undertale. Well great, the only one I have is a GBA. And I've heard they're not easy to find. I know ROMs are illegal but meehhhhh…

If you emulate it, won't you get the anti-piracy version of the game?

I'd really recommend -blip-not linking, as it is technically piracy, and while the Internet Police probably won't care about someone downloading it, actively promoting piracy might get you on their bad list.

Where can I find Earthbound?
Earthbound Beginnings (Mother 1) and Earthbound (Mother 2) are both on the virtual console and Mother 3 (or as some start calling it, Earthbound 2) is a Japanese only game on the GBA.
I actually have the Japanese Mother 3 instead of the English translation. I don't read Japanese, but I still could somehow understand what was going on. And after I was done, I looked up all the names of the characters in English. But I think it would be better, if you're thinking about playing Mother 3, just wait for an English release. There's actually an English translation that i've heard about, but I haven't checked it out yet. So, for now, just wait for an English release or find that translation (Nintendo knows about it, and the creator of the translation said that it will stop the translation's production once Mother 3 gets a proper English release, so i'm pretty sure it's legal).
Earthbound Beginnings was origionally made for the NES, so if you think the visuals were “bad” unlike what you've seen, it's probably because the visuals you saw that were technically better were from it's sequel, Mother 2, or known in the USA Earthbound.

The forum's automatic URL parsing is struggling with it due to the square brackets. Copy and paste the address to make it work.http://www.emuparadise.me/Nintendo_Entertainment_System_ROMs/Earthbound_(USA)_(Proto)__(~EarthBound_-_Easy)/55374hmm, that link is giving me a 404…

I'm assuming the “internet police” thing is a joke though as of course that's not a real thing.
