I was wondering if there could be an option to switch between the old homepage and the new one? I honestly do not like the new one, it distorts people's usernames, makes the title of the project shorter and everything feels smaller/uncomfortable for me to read easily.

No support. Once the new theme is fixed, there's no use of having an old UI.

update rolled out in late october and generated a massive spike in new accounts.

like mathlycat said you shouldn't say stuff like that if there is no actual evidence behind it (especially if all the evidence is the exact opposite of your argument).
