This has been suggested a lot so why not add it? Also, I went through them and counted a total of 143 supporters from all the different forums(May be some duplicates and yes i did actually go through them and count).

This post here didn't take from any of the others, but we all have extremely similar ideas.

I've seen many different different project, but when I go into it and view the code, I am met with a huge list of sprites that all do different things. It would be nicer and easier if you could organize your sprites so you and others can navigate it quicker to find the code they are looking for. This is when I got the idea for folders, which many other have also thought of before, to help organize the sprites of a project. A folder system is something that almost all computers and devices have nowadays, so why not add one into Scratch? It would allow for better experience and a tidier work-space.

The example photos shown below are from an OS project I worked on. It has a couple of sprites that I could put into a folder, but there are so many projects out there with hundreds of sprites that would benefit even more from this addition.

Below is an example of how a sprites folder could look like in the editor. The folder is currently holding 3 sprites which all relate to the usage of the calculator(I would've changed the name of the folder, but I didn't have energy to). I would then be able to make more folders to group the other sprites. This would include the sprites for the music app and the drawing app. Remember, this is only what it could look like but would probably be different since we now have Scratch 3.0 and this was make 24 years ago.

Upixel_Games recently gave another look for folders which involves color coding them as well.

This first one is what color coded folders can look like:

The second is for when you open the folder. It takes the approach of moving those sprites to the top and expanding the contents in the folder.

This isn't a game changing addition but an addition that people desperately want in Scratch to help improve there own work-space and work-flow.

Additional ideas others have come up with if folders were added.

Extra idea:
<touching [Platform Folder v] ?>

Returns true if you're touching a sprite in the folder, false otherwise. This would greatly reduce the number of OR blocks required for having lots of different platform types.
Here is another idea which could go with the one above.

Maybe if you add scripts to a folder the script would basically clone itself to anything inside the folder.

It's been suggested before, as you said (I've also seen suggestions to organise projects in folders), but support.

No support. Follow these steps.
1. Create a folder/file on your documents called scratch.
2. Save the sprite onto the file.
3. You can open the sprite in your projects.

A folder system for organizing sprites would be amazing! It would make scrolling through large projects much easier, so you can get to where you left off quicker. (I'm assuming the folders will be named)

Extra idea:
<touching [Platform Folder v] ?>

Returns true if you're touching a sprite in the folder, false otherwise. This would greatly reduce the number of OR blocks required for having lots of different platform types.

Yes you will be able to rename the folder also that is a really good idea and you could probably do it with other sensing blocks too

But then it wouldn't be organized in the actual editor, which is what the suggestion is.
Anyway, support. I've had this idea for a while now and it would be super helpful. Maybe if you add scripts to a folder the script would basically clone itself to anything inside the folder.

That would be a great idea for it is better than coping your code to every sprite

I support. It would help with neatness and the touching block and script duplication that has been suggested would really help in games with many different enemies and weapons.
