I think it's hard to get famous when there is a person getting every chance he has to name and shame me.

This is a very good post. I hope a lot of people, especially new scratchers, see this because I feel that although there are a lot of resources and help out there many new scratchers especially, strive for fame by using pointless tactics like follow for follow, AE studios, and spamming.

I always put effort into my games but when I advertise no one even bothers to play the game let alone click the actual topic.

You shouldn't advertise. That makes people want to see your projects even less. It is also rude to the person you advertise on their project.

He just said advertise via topic

Actually read the sentence before criticizing someone for no reason, please.

Shouldn't do it anyways

Nice topic, nice tips! I really agree with 4: copying what everyone else is doing just because it's popular isn't great as you're thinking more about what everyone else will like than what you like. Also, you could have made a really nice, unique game someone hasn't ever made yet, or another platformer with an kawaii art style (don't get me wrong, some are really nice to play, but I've noticed lots of these sort of games which are kind of similar).
I have to agree with this! Now, I see so many games that are the same. I always love the feeling I get when I see that someone has put so much dedication into a project, and it has a unique twist. Recently, I haven't been seeing much of this, though. All the games seem to be based on what scratchers think other people will like. Don't fall into this trap! I did this once, by just posting art, nothing but art. Sure, my art got better, but it wasn't what I liked doing. I like making games and stuff like that! I'm glad that I decided (eventually) to stop posting art and do what I enjoy. Right now, I'm working on a really big dress-up game, the code is going quite successfully, and I'm feeling more satisfied with at about 8%, then I ever did drawing. I think this goes to say, that you shouldn't let other people's opinions drag you down! If you carry on with a unique style, someone's sure to notice you! Just doing art, or whatever anyone else does, immediately makes people dismiss you as a wannabe artist just by looking at your profile. I'm not saying don't do art, in fact if you enjoy it, then go for it!, I'm just saying, you should do what you enjoy! Another 2 tips: 1.DON'T COPY! Nobody likes playing 2 games that are near identical! Be original! 2. BE UNIQUE BUT BE INSPIRED. Inspiration is a good way to create a project. It is like the remix button, which tells you where the inspiration came from. When remixing, change something! Keep it to your own style! If you don't change anything, you're basically taking credit for someone else's project and advertising it for them. Put it this way, if someone sees your unchanged remix on your profile, they will view it, and then see it's a remix. They will then go to the original project, and view it. The person with the original project will probably get the loves, favourites and follows, while you'll be notified by the original creator for not giving credit or changing anything.

Here's a good quote from bubble103:

Bubble103 wrote:

What's the point of being famous for something you don't even like doing? There isn't any! Make sure that you're making projects that YOU enjoy making, NOT because it's trendy and you think playing along with what other scratchers are doing too will get you popular. Although, if what you wanna do just happens to be the same as the trend, go for it anyway! Do it for YOURSELF, not for anyone else. Ultimately, following your own passions will get you far further and far happier. And Scratch is about learning, but it's also about fun!

Don't let the desire for recognition ever make you lose sight of that.

Wow! You read this far? Congratulations!

Uhmm…I don't know if this is the right place, but could anyone please check out my new animation? Normally, I make a lot of games and I'm not that good at animations. But I think I did effort on this one, so please? You even don't have to love it, just taking a look and maybe some feedback would be awesome! You should advertise that in a new thread.

A “sticky” is a topic that stays at the top of the forums no matter what. It's usually reserved for important or helpful topics.
A “bump” is a meaningless post to “bump” a topic back to the top, since topics are sorted by last post time.
