I was reading the Hobbit one day and decided to make a trilogy of Platformers on Scratch based off of the book, not the movies. It turned out that I wanted it to be bigger and better than I expected, and I would actually really like to collaborate with a small group of people so that we can achieve this. Now, I have also decided not to stop with just the Hobbit. I am going to make them for the Lord of the Rings as well. The Platformers will actually be detailed and have scenes where characters talk, along with likely special powers for different characters. I would like to have some fairly quality companions as this will be difficult.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Assistant Manager:
The Assistant Manager helps me with logistics and such, and often reminds other members of the collaboration of various assignments. They also have other tasks, assigned by me.

Assistant Writer:
The Assistant Writer helps me write out some scripts and storylines. You must have a good knowledge of how both the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books go, either by reading or looking it up online. GOOD WRITERS ONLY.

Gameplay Coder:
The Gameplay Coder helps me design the gameplay itself, e.g. the character moving and doing things. They will also design the special powers and such with me.

Other Mechanics Coder:
The Other Mechanics Coder creates other mechanics than gameplay. For instance, they will create the little text engine going on when characters speak, and stuff like that. There are many “other mechanics,” so you need to be a good general coder.

Background Artist:
The Background Artist draws the backgrounds in the game and needs to be good at drawing landscapes and such. Once again, I apologize but I need good art for the game, so only people good at drawing landscapes can take this part. You must use Vector, NOT Bitmap. You will draw many places over the course of the collaboration.

Character Artist:
The Character Artist draws all of the characters. They MUST be good at drawing nice-looking cartoonish characters in Vector and be able to draw them in various poses. No stick figures and no bitmap. The characters don't need to be animated, but they must be well-drawn.
ALTERNATE OPTION: If you have good pixel art skills, you can draw in pixel art instead of Vector for the characters.

Sound-Finder:
The Sound-Finder finds the music and sound effects for the games. They must be good at finding accurate sound effects and appropriate music.

Testers:
There are three Testers. Each one will test the game on a special beta account I am making and tell me about problems and flaws. They must be good at critiquing and giving advice.

Over Hill and Under Hill
This game will cover the first part of Bilbo's journey, from him having the Unexpected Party to Thorin and Company escaping from Wargs with the help of the Great Eagles.

Flies and Spiders
This game will encompass the Company passing through Mirkwood and their preparations to go to Erebor in Lake-Town.

King Under the Mountain
This game will cover the final events of the book, from Thorin and Company going to Erebor to the end of the book.
