Except for most of us it's really not that bad. I've got loads of SD cards kicking around because every time anyone in the house gets a new phone they end up with a spare SD card. The power supply is a standard phone charger in vaguely the right amperage range (again, I've got about six spare in the house from people upgrading their phones over the last five years). The HDMI cable I grant you. They're cheap to get though and there's probably one in the house connecting something to the TV already.

WiFi adapters are about $2 online. Lots of us have spare ethernet cables cluttering up the house because they've been bundled with things (like old routers) over the years.

For me the annoying thing is a powered USB hub and spare keyboards. I don't keep many of those around!
Flamekebab is completey right. As I said before, you can always check around your house for spare stuff! I was able to find all the expensive stuff in my basement, and you can always connect the Pi to a TV instead of buying a new monitor.
If you're completely at a loss, start with something like this:

Yeah XD I found most of the stuff around my house. That was mostly sarcasm, you should be able to find at least one SD card, and if you can't, you could try and do some stuff to run an OS from a usb drive.
Everything's actually relatively cheap, as long as you buy the stuff from online.
Used stuff, definitely!

I just discovered something excellent. It should be relatively easy to wire up audio output from the GPIO pins of a Pi Zero. That should make my soundboard project significantly easier!

Neat! I'll have to try that out one day on my Pi

From what I understand if you already have a Pi that has a 3.5mm audio jack then you already have that project there. The method I'm looking into just recreates it for the Zero.

Next I think I'm going to look into audio input via GPIO. It should be possible without buying too much extra hardware but I currently lack the understanding necessary. ADC chips can be used for audio but they're also used for all sorts of other analogue input.

I still have the original model B

I'm gonna either put it in th a USB hub in the Xbox 360's plastic shell (the bit you see)

Or…..

Combine the gpio pins and make a pip boy style thing from fallout it's mostly just a thing to use python and stuff. I just have no idea how to do it as although someone has do e it and done a blog about it, it caught fire apparently before he could do a tutorial

This guy has a cool sample. No tut though, but a tutorial wouldn't really be helpful as it takes skill to make that casing.

I can't wait to see what you do There are so many things to do!

Tips:
immediately turn on SSH using raspi-confg
plug your RPI into ethernet
use SSH to connect to you PI
