Rube Goldberg blah blah blah

Ok, so who has ever played the game mouse trap? A Rube Goldberg is a really complicated machine to do a really simple task. My task is to pop a balloon, and so far everything has gone fine….but now I'm out of ideas!

I don't think you need to ask that.

That's in practically every single one.

I love Mouse Trap, but the game hates me

it breaks every. single. time.

I used to have this rube goldberg video game for PC, about 3-4 years ago. I forget what it was called, but there were, like, lamps and plants and steam pipes and… yes, dominoes. Can anyone help

I used to love marble runs. I imagine you've already thought of that though

Last school year, I had to create a Rube Goldberg contraption for a project in my science class. It was very tedious and I didn't have any ideas, so I pretty much just threw something together at the last minute. I think I got a C for a grade on that project.

Are you doing this for a project in school as well? What are all of the things you have used already?

Made one in science last year.

It was mainly a marble run, along with a hang glider being shot at Santa, which pushed a pulley.

Use a pulley, if you can hang things from the ceiling.

Ok, here is what I have so far:
A marble runs down a track, then it bumps into a bigger marble. The bigger marble hits a car. The car goes forward, hitting dominoes. The dominos then hit another car. The car hits a stack of dominos that are going upstairs. The last domino hits a piece of wood, like a ruler. The ruler hits a pool ball, sending it down a ramp.
The rules are : no permanent attachments to the ceiling, no liquids, no flames, and it must fit into a 3m by 3m section, or 9ft by 9ft.

Maybe try placing a block at the bottom of the last ramp with a nail tapped to it, and put the balloon in front of it. When the pool ball hits the block, it will fall on the balloon and the nail will pop it. At least that's what I did to pop the balloon in my project. It works quite well.

Ok that sounds like a good idea I'll try to incorporate it in mine thanks
