I did something similar a few years ago, though I'm pretty sure I paced myself out a bit more – it certainly took me more than a year! I thought Speaker for the Dead was a superb sequel (I don't think Ender in Exile is part of the original Quartet, though I may be wrong). I didn't read Shadows in Flight until a year and a half ago (I believe), and haven't read any of the short stories (apart from the one that Ender's Game was based off of).

Ultimately, this got me into some of Orson Scott Card's other works. I didn't really enjoy some of his works (for example I couldn't really get into the Seventh Son), but he has some great works outside of the Ender universe as well. I especially enjoyed his short stories in Maps in a Mirror

The movie was good, the book was better…

I haven't seen ender's game movie and I'm listening to the book with my dad. Hopefully when we're through with the book he will take me though
