Ohgosh.

Are they using LanSchool?
What's LanSchool? My school uses lightspeed systems and some perfidious thing that makes the site's connection fail. I was trying to be funny.
LanSchool is “legal” malware/spyware that school administrators and teachers can abuse to steal passwords through the built-in keylogger and screen capture functions.

It's pretty easy to make some things sound extremely evil yet still be truthful. :package:

LanSchool's a lot easier to get around then iBoss, I think. Though iBoss was still pretty easy for me; I'm not going to tell how I got around it because I don't want to encourage bad behavior, but yeah.

Really, though, I don't do anything wrong. Like if I have free time I'm not going to be on Facebook or playing a game or anything like that, I'll be reading game/anime reviews (blocked under “Gaming” or “Entertainment”), working on fanfiction (fanfiction.net is blocked), checking the Lost Media Wiki (blocked under “Gaming”, which is is not), or contributing to TV Tropes (blocked under “Friendship” - the horror!)

Key phrase “if I have free time”. There's kids who spend all day on ‘unblocked games’ sites hosted on Google and watching YouTube.

And I could access all of these sites last year without having to get around the filter.

If LanSchool is bad for sharing private information, why would you keep it private anyways? If so, you shouldn't be doing such things.

The only time we had to use a browser other than IE was when we went onto code.org for the Hour of Code.

For me, it was soooooooooooo easy because of Scratch. I did find a

count from counter {[1] :: sensing} to {[200] :: sensing} by {[1] :: sensing} :: sound cstart

end

Which was similar to Snap! 's
for (i) = (1) to (200) :: control cstart

end

sorry but please use this topic to test out scratchblocks

The post in question was perfectly relevant, mind you.

I've been on the forums since January, and this post is very relevant to the topic. I was not testing scratchblocks and I was using it responsibly. By your logic, if someone wanted to make a suggestion for a new block, then people would be saying to use the scratchblocks thread instead. As long as you use something responsibly, it is allowed. Did you even read my post, or did you just post that when you saw blocks that weren't in Scratch?

If that were the case the HDEV site would be gone and there'd be several billion-trillion dollars worth of space station reentering the atmosphere.

Heheheh.

We just did Hour of Code, now everyone is on Scratch. I told them to NOT use their real names, but they did it anyways.

And one of them got blocked due to and inappropriate word, just add a “t” at the end of but and you'll see what one put in their username.

Yeah, I'm the smartest student in my entire school. And now I have to teach over 20 kids how to use Scratch and not share any personal info, which means I also have to do an “online safety” lesson. The only good things about you that you can share online without any worries is your age and gender.

Plus, everyone goes on FB, “Kik”, and other things and they post their personal info on there. It's never safe to share that kind of information. It's only safe to post your age and gender on SM websites and apps. (Including Scratch)

Even your age may or may not be safe to post online…

Even your gender in some circumstances…some of you know what I mean.

The kids in my class who have Scratch have usernames that resemble their actual name, but it isn't the actual thing. If everyone made an account on Scratch, a lot of kids would think it's Instagram but as coding and put their first and possibly their last name on there, and they might even share a few pictures of themselves. I saw one project have that sort of thing, but it wasn't from anyone I knew.

There needs to be a Scratch policy on that.
