I mean image files like .bmp, .png, .jpeg, etc.

I know about png, jpeg/jpg, and svg working, not sure about other formats.

.bmp files are not supported by Scratch, but png, jpg, jpeg, and several others should be supported.

Could you try uploading a .png file to Scratch, and posting your results here?

i did, and nothing happened.

.gif is supported.
