Changing Usernames

I think that we should be able to change usernames because why wouldn't we be able to. We can change our passwords and our email. Why they don't allow us to change usernames is because it would be too confusing, but how would it be confusing? I think we can choose if we want to change our username.

It's a good idea, but the scratch team has told people that they would have to rewrite the whole servers to do this.

This has already been suggested and rejected because 1: If someone thought they were following jennavanderwaal and then all the sudden they were following puppydog123 it would be confusing. 2: You can change email because if you get a new email account your other one cold be closed making it useless. You can change your password so if someone finds your password you can change it to prevent hacking 3: It would be too much for the system. For example, would you old projects show up as “ made by jennavanderwaal” or “ made by *new username*” If it showed jennavanderwaal, there woulld be no more page for that name if people clicked on it. If it showed your new username, it would be a lot for the system to change.

Rejected by the ST due to the fact that the server architecture isn't designed for changing usernames and that it would be very confusing to others if you did change your name. No support.

Already rejected. Sorry.

If you really want to change your username, then make a new account and remix all the projects you want to keep over and re-follow everyone you were following on your old account. Also promote yourself to manager on all of the old studios you want to keep. As far as getting all your old followers back, make a “new account” announcement project on the old profile.

In the end, you can do it, but it takes some work.
