I'm trying to upload some of my previous animations (which are in gif format) but they upload in costumes too big. Does this have something to do with the file size or is there no way I can prevent this? (Shrinking only shrinks it up but still leaves the chopped parts off) I am uploading them as sprites to save time instead of having to screenshot them all.

The GIF in question is either too hi-res or has too many frames.

It's exactly 55kb, only has about 15 frames (more or less) and is only basic lineart of one figure. Is there any solution to my problem or will I simply have to redo the animation?

Does your project have other media files? Like a really large sound file?
Scratch 2.0's file size limit is 50 MB - 55 KB is way under the limit, so the problem must not be with the .gif.

What's wrong with resizing the sprite itself?

480x360 is the stage size. GIFs that are smaller than that should work fine.

When the costumes load the picture is bigger than the canvas so if I shrink it becomes smaller and those parts that were cut off remain cut off.
