Chat Room (I read the stickied threads!)

Shh, shh, let me speak.

I have an idea that might help the chat room problem.
If the only way allowed is that you insert a chat room using a block, and that chat room has an automatic whitelist that others can't change.

What I mean by a whitelist is a list of words that others CAN say in chat. It may be a long list of 10,000, but it could work if people suggest other words to add, maybe in a thread where it lists all words in the whitelist.
You may want to avoid adding religious words such as “God” or “Jesus”, as it can be used against others, as well as an exclamation, which can be found offensive, and words such as “dumb or ”annoying".

Just an idea I had, I got the main idea off WolfQuest.

For that extra security, you could add a blacklist too. It would be mainly used for phrases though, phrases with words that wouldn't usually be offensive (e.g go die). The words that can't be said would be covered in a whitelist.

I don't think the Scratch Team could add a built in chat, because the point of Scratch is to program things yourself. Paddle2SeeFixIt has a very comprehensive whitelist you can use.

Hm, true.
I was thinking maybe in RPGs though, maybe where interaction is present.

Just a suggestion, I don't expect the Scratch team to put it in true consideration.

No support. Besides there's already a whitelist here. And I'm also gonna agree with “Chibi” on this one.
