How did you discover Scratch?
A friend showed it to me and I spent the rest of the day working on my first project.
How long have you been on Scratch?
Insanely, I've been here 4 and a half years.
Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
I used to be here to make games. Undoubtedly, I still do that. It is a great play to make a quick game that you want to make, but don't want to go crazy with. Now though, I come to scratch for the community. I love helping the younger students here with their projects and seeing what they create. Scratch has become a place of students and teachers, and I am glad to say I have stepped into the role of being one of the teachers.
How do you think Scratch changed your life?
I am really bad a coding. For a very long time I wanted to make games, but I saw most programs as being too arcane. Scratch was a great place for me to makes games and get introduced to the art of game design. I can't see game creation as not being a hobby of mine for years to come and scratch was where my passion started. I also furthered my passion of mathematics on scratch. Scratch is a place to create quick simulations, and test what I have learned in school. To this day I challenge myself with the program. My current challenge is to make a 3D engine and so far it is coming along great.
Do you want to write a speech to compliment this interview?
Scratch is a place where I can create what I want to with a passion, meet inspiring young people who feel the same, and meet those who want to teach them. I will always have a home here.

I discovered Scratch from my teacher in 2011.
I've used the offline editor for 3 1/2 years, then the online website for 1/2 a year.
I enjoy Scratch for its easy to use interactive language, mostly the effortless ability to create “sprites” and create complex visual things (I can't think of a better word), a feature that any language that I know (besides CSS) allows you to do.
Scratch has made the greatest impact in my life. Scratch is just great, and it has just enhanced my programming skills so much I can't describe it. I really can't say much about how amazing scratch is.

Does this pique your interest:
A 26 year old accountant was framed for changing records, who, now a fugitive, flees, and tries to find the organization who actually coordinated the scam.

Would you be interested in joining:
A collab that is checked every day and managed well.

Then why don't you click the sunglasses guy?

How did you discover Scratch?
Scratch was featured on the TV show Good Game Spawn Point, and I thought it seemed cool, so I decided to try it out for myself.
How long have you been on Scratch?
Possibly a year now, but there was a period when I wasn't active on Scratch for six months. Later, I started a new profile, which is the one I am using right now, and abandoned my old profile.
Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
There are a few reasons actually. The big one is collaborating with other fellow Scratchers and being part of a group. Another reason is the gold feeling I get when I get a lot of nice comments from people who watch my animations after I finish them.
How do you think Scratch changed your life?
Scratch is a big part of my life. I am on it a lot. I find it a good place to share my talents, like music and animation, without being insulted by the trolls on YouTube. This hasn't happened yet, but it might one day.
Do you want to write a speech to compliment this interview?
No thanks, I think I've said enough already

Hello! Please tell me if I need add more info, I'd be happy too.

How did you discover Scratch?
I first discovered scratch three years ago during a ‘hour of code’ class at school. I created an account called ‘Duckling_Cake’, because that was my username for almost everything at that time. Two years later, I decided to delete that account and start this one.
How long have you been on Scratch?
I first discovered scratch three years ago, and I used it for about one year. Then, I stopped scratch for two years and started this account.
Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
The main reason I first stopped scratch was because the only thing I thought you could do was program. That was great, but it eventually got boring. When I created this account, I soon learned about the discussion page and studios. The main thing I now do on scratch is actually work on my shop and participate in many different collaborations. Although, I have started to program more.
How do you think Scratch changed your life?
Scratch has definitely changed my life. I have met so many people on scratch that have become my friends. And scratch has also helped my become a more social person. I am also teaching a class at my school about scratch, and that is a really big thing.
Do you want to write a speech to compliment this interview?
I could definitely write a speech.

How did you discover Scratch?
We were learning how to code in my Infocomm Club and the teacher introduced Scratch. Then I got so interested. So I started coding, coding, coding on the offline editor. Then I discovered scratch.mit.edu . It was just like the offline editor, but had an amazing community. So I made an account.
How long have you been on Scratch?
2 and a half weeks
Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
I always wanted to code something like a game or a website. Scratch is like a stepping stone for me. It allows me to understand the basics of coding and from there, learn more.
How do you think Scratch changed your life?
I have made more new friends, I have had lots of fun, I have been inspired to code. Scratch has changed my life in more ways than I can count.
Do you want to write a speech to compliment this interview?
I would like to thank everyone who has been nice to me on Scratch, for developing my passion for coding. I am now learning HTML and Javascript, but I would not have been able to even understand whatever all those strange languages were about without starting from Scratch.

How did you discover Scratch?
When I was somewhat new to programming I discovered the 1.4 editor. I found it really easy to use and learn, and started making tons of things with it right away. After a while I found you could upload your projects to a website, so I made an account and uploaded a couple.

How long have you been on Scratch?
I've been on the website 8 and a half months, but I've been using it for about a year.

Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
While it's incredibly easy to use and learn, there's really no limit to what you can make with it. Sure, there's a 10/50 MB (not sure which) limit, but most projects rarely come close to that. You can also discover all sorts of art and music made by other people.

How do you think Scratch changed your life?
Before Scratch, I wasn't very good at programming or digital art. Scratch both helped me to understand programming better and introduced me to vector (which is what I mostly use today). I additionally program in other languages like Python, so Scratch helps me to give an idea of what the code for the same program would look like in Python.

Do you want to write a speech to compliment this interview?
Scratch isn't just programming. It's a community. You can have an idea for a game, and you can find people willing to test it, remix it with their own ideas, and give advice on how to make it better. If you need a resource like art, music, or programming, you can find it, and if you can't, chances are you can find somebody who'll make or get it for you. If you created something, you can put it in a project and share it with the world. And the best part is that if you want to know how something was made, you can just look at the code. You can learn how it works, and then use those skills in your own projects. I probably wouldn't have been able to make half of my projects without looking at other people's code.

How did you discover Scratch?
School! My teacher said, “When you are done with the Hour of Code, you may go on Scratch.” I was done with the Hour of Code coding lesson, and started to explore Scratch. Unlike most people in my class, I made an account at home and made projects! I have improved a lot since then.

my classmates liked to play the games :)
How long have you been on Scratch?
1 year! It is my Scratchaversary! My first account is juliemin888.
Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
Well, coding is fun! I have enough time to go on Scratch and have some fun! I hope to be FPC or featured one day, or make games that everybody enjoys! I like to make people happy and I like making stuff! Sadly, I don't finish.
I still have time to go on Scratch, and I can use that time! Plus, my parents don't see it as a game. im not allowed to play games, and i dont play them on scratchXD
How do you think Scratch changed your life?
Scratch has been added to my daily routine on the computer and I learn more and more about coding. I am now inspired to learn more coding languages, and hope to be a great coder when I grow up. I'm hoping on some Java soon, but text is tiring.
Do you want to write a speech to compliment this interview?
??? I don't quite get this question…? A speech about Scratch? I can do that… XD
Scratch isn't all about follows and loves and favorites or how many projects you have. It is about learning coding and being inspired. It is about challenging your creativity and thinking! It is about problem solving! When you feel sad that no one notices your project, you don't have to think about it! Think about how you learned and improved! Think about what you should make next!
Just keep scratching and making and improving, and soon you will be what you wanted to become when you first began.
Look at me. When I first started, my projects were absolutely TERRIBLE. I have now improved and learned about thumbnails, more about coding, and artwork! I am aiming for a goal to learn Java and more coding languages! Mostly, I want to keep improving and learning about coding.

Thanks for that interview! I enjoyed it.

Oooh! I'll do this!

How did you discover Scratch?
Well, I was searching the internet to look for any way that I could do some easy Animations. I had been looking everywhere until I came across Scratch. I tried it out for a few minutes and it seemed pretty easy to do… but some parts got a bit difficult I decided to make an account to save my projects and come back to the hard parts later.

How long have you been on Scratch?
Eight months and a week ago. But actually, I had an account before this so… actually nine months and four weeks ago. It was PinkiePie-Minecraft but it didn't go so well so I decided to start fresh!

Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
Mmm… Well, I'm still here because I am trying to figure out some other features on Scratch so that I am able to move onto more advanced Animations and I'm also still here because the people here are so nice! The different communities and variety of people on the website amazes me! It's also entertaining because I love seeing what other people can create with Scratch and what fun projects there are to play/mess around with.

How do you think Scratch has changed your life?
It has changed my life A LOT, because when I first discovered this site, I didn't have anywhere else to express myself but when I got more into the blocks and coding I seemed a bit more outgoing and imaginative. I can't even believe the progress I have made since I started!

Do you want to write a speech to compliment this this interview?
Scratch, well, there is so many things to call it! Best website, Nicest community, It's just… Blowing me away with all the people and projects they have made! I've met so many wonderful people here and I intend to stay here for a very long time. The coding seems easy to use, but remember there can be some bumps along the way! Maybe some things didn't turn out so well… But remember to keep moving forward! Remember to keep on Scratching guys! I'll see you around! - Mel <3

How did you discover Scratch? I read a magazine that had an article about Scratch. I procrastinated for so, so long, but I eventually found the time to visit. I'm so glad I did.
How long have you been on Scratch? I've had an account for 5 months, but I've known about it for at least a month more.
Why are you still here on Scratch/Why is Scratch so entertaining to you? Scratch surprises me every day, and that's why I stay on.
How do you think Scratch changed your life? Scratch has changed my life in many tons of ways. 1. I saw that making things wasn't so hard after all. If I dragged my mouse and put some blocks together, I could make something I never thought I could have done. 2. I saw the imagination that others had, and for the first time learned to appreciate those people. 3. I saw that people have a heart. Every time I go on Scratch, I'm reminded that there are kind people in this world. 4. I learned that some people I knew in real life liked Scratch, and I talked to them. I became, if only by a smidge, less shy. More willing to talk to others. Happier, in a way.

Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
I love the community - everyone is so nice! Coding is my favorite thing to do, and I am trying to improve my animation skills.
How do you think Scratch changed your life?
I have become more social, and I'm not afraid to go talk to people. I also think that my logic skills have improved through learning how to code.

Ooh, sure why not

How did you discover Scratch?
When I was in the 5th grade (way back in 2008), a classmate did a presentation in our math class and showed off a Scratch project she'd made about population growth. A week later, I was sharing my own projects.
How long have you been on Scratch?
I'm going on 8 years as a Scratcher!
Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
I have outgrown Scratch a little, so I mostly just hang around the ATs now where I've found a great h4x0r community. But I guess I still use Scratch as a programming platform because it's an easy way to quickly make something and share it. It's especially good for simple graphical stuff, whereas in most other languages you have to fight with libraries to get any kind of graphics to happen. Oh, an it's cool to see new programmers remix my work and figure out what makes it tick.
How do you think Scratch changed your life?
Scratch was my introduction to programming. And I'm still programming today, so that's probably how it changed my life (haha).
Do you want to write a speech to complement this interview?
Uh, sure I guess. If you need one, lemme know on my profile ‘cause I won’t check back here.

I was trying to learn a programming language and i came across this funky app called “Pocket Code” I basically mastered pocket code and i stopped liking it. Everyone was posting these projects which werent in that much quality. This made pocket code boring but i rememberd about a little comment i read on their google play app which told about scratch. I went for it and i'm still here.

Why are you still using scratch
The community and cloud data. Cloud data is amazing it makes making cloud variables so much easier than making yourself a database and doing this weird complicated port forwarding stuff.

Here we go:

  • How did you discover Scratch?
I “discovered” Scratch when I read an article about it in a kid's magazine called Ask. It had a comic-type story and an interview with mres.
  • How long have you been on Scratch?
Apparently, according to my profile, I have been on Scratch for 1 year and 8 months.
  • Why are you still here on Scratch/why is Scratch so entertaining to you?
Of course I like the creative part of making the projects, but I also like the sharing, communicating, collaborating, and social-type aspects.
  • How do you think Scratch changed your life?
Scratch has changed my life because it is a good way to share online with, and collaborate with, online with other kids and people from all over the world.
  • Do you want to write a speech to compliment this interview?
    Why not! Here we go:

Scratch is an amazing, fun website and program to create with. Making, sharing, collaborating, and interacting are many things that you can do with Scratch along with programming. The coding program is simple and literal enough for anyone to get good at, making it a great thing that anyone can use. Plus, the moderating teams help prevent cyberbullying and “internet wrongdoing”, making the Scratch website a wonderful, safe place for your browser to hang out in. Overall, Scratch is a site for everyone.

Thank you! Cool idea!
