Is the Offline Version of Scratch faster than the Online Version?

I'm trying to make a game that involves lots of clones, and want to know which is faster, the offline version or the Online Version.

Probably offline, because being connected to the web is what causes a lot of lag, I believe.

Generally offline is a lot faster, assuming you are not running any program that is labor-intensive in the background.
