Scratch Mentoring Program- Training Thread!
“Alright, what will I be doing? I'm pretty confused…?” Nice.
“Fine. This seems pointless though…” Rude
“I really don't need help, but I guess…” Stubborn, but possibly a nice side.
“No! This is stupid.” Rude
So, what would we do? “ Nice

Here are the Core Standards for Mentoring-
Forums- The basics of the Discussion Tab, such as Signatures, Posting, Quoting, Snipping, Browsing Threads, and Following Threads.
My Way of phrasing this: Ok, so this is most of the things that you need to know about Forums. First off, you need to know how to get to the forums, or else my information will be totally useless. Click on the ”Discuss“ button at the top of the page, where you can also see the search bar and your ”My Stuff“ button. Then, you will see a list of different subjects/help areas, sort of like a table of contents. There are a few different things to do in threads: You can just browse them, seeing if you can answer a question or want to make a shop (more about that later), or you can post a question/comment. To post a comment/question, go to the bottom of the page where you can see ”New Reply“. Start typing! Or, you can quote, meaning clicking the quote button at the bottom of a post. You're probably thinking, ‘why would I want to quote?’. Well, quoting is like adding onto a conversation, basically. Finally, there is snipping and Signatures. We will go further into Signatures later; I would just like to focus on the basics right now. Snipping is a way of making a quoted conversation smaller, by deleting some of the first posts. Hope this helped!

Coding- The basics of Creating a project, then explain the following- Pen, Variables, Operators, Motion, Control, Events, More Blocks, Sound, Sensing, and how they connect. Simply explain the meaning of these Tabs.
Ok, so you want to learn about coding? Here's some basics.
Control: With these blocks, you can make the sprite (character) move around when you press start.
Pen: This function lets the user draw on the screen.
Sound: Now you can play background music! Da-da-da-da-da-da!
So, those are the basic blocks. I can go into more detail if you would like.
Coder
Scratch History- This is probably the hardest one as far as finding the information goes. Just put times that Scratch was created, any LARGE events in the past.
Scratch 2 was created in 2013, so about 2 years ago. There were, of course earlier versions, like the 1.4 created in 2009. Some large events in its history were:
1. Scratch 1.4 becoming Scratch 2.0, which was in 2013.
2. On March 7th, 2007, the Scratch Forums were created. Go Scratch Team!
3. On June 1st, 2008, ”What the Community is Remixing" was added to the front page.
And then some fun facts:
1. Scratch's motto is Imagine, Program, Share.
2. There is a Scratch Junior, made especially for the little children.
All of this info was found on the Scratch Wiki, by the way.
Coder
Studios- Curate, Follow, Manage, and Create. Explain them!
Studios - A wonderful way to organize yours and other's projects. There are several important things to know about studios, though.
If you are invited to curate a studio, you have been asked to help out in this studio. You can accept by going to the curators tab in the studio, or you can just ignore the request if you don't want to join.
Following To follow a studio means to click that little blue follow button. This is basically saying that you enjoy the studio.
Manage To manage means to be a very important helper of this studio. Note: Curators can NOT promote someone to manager.
Create To create a studio means to come up with your own studio idea. You will invite curators and promote people, and only you can delete the studio.
Scratch on!
Coder
Wiki- Say where to find the Wiki and how to navigate through it. Be sure to explain the features!
The wiki can be found at the very, very bottom of the page. Just scroll and scroll and scroll until you see “About” “Community” “Support” “Legal” and “Scratch Family”. Look under the “Community” area, and click on “Scratch Wiki”. Once you are in the Scratch Wiki, you can search for just about anything Scratch-related. For example, want to know some events in Scratch's history? Just type in “Scratch Timeline”, and you can click on the page about Scratch's history.
Coder
How to get further help after the Mentoring Committee- Links to things like the About Tab, the “Getting Started on Scratch” search in the Wiki, and more.
If you need more help after coming to the Mentoring Committee, then check out these awesome resources.
1. The “Help” tab. It shows sample projects and tutorials.
2. Go into a Scratch Project and click on the little question mark (?) at the right-hand side of the screen. This shows several projects to make, and step-by-step instructions.
3. Finally, I would suggest going to the Scratch Wiki and type in “Getting Started on Scratch”. This gives a great overview of all of Scratch's possibilities.
Stay awesome,
Coder.

Good. 97/100
You just needed to elaborate on a few more things, and I asked for it in a project.
However, still good. Your grade will be added into S.M.P.G. once everyone completes Lesson 2.
@Trainees
Notify me if you have completed Lesson 2.

Yes . On the main thread are two people I think . I think Hamish is mentoring one
