The Official Scratch Helper Mentoring Committee APPLICATION THREAD
Scratch Helper Mentoring Application Thread
The Scratch Mentoring Committee is dedicated to helping Scratchers. We help Scratchers by teaching them coding and tricks to navigating the Scratch Website. We show them where many tools and resources are available for them to use. We try to do 1 on 1 comprehensive instruction for coding and we try our best to answer any question tossed our way.
The Scratch Mentoring Committee is sponsored by the Scratch Helpers, the Scratch Mentors, the Scratch Welcoming Committee, and even some ST Members.
Would you like to help out in this community-sponsored program?
Currently when you are applying you are applying to be a mentor, whose duty it is to seek out and work with New Scratchers. Just as a prerequisite, we ask that you have been on scratch for at least 2 months or more before applying. Also make sure to read this guide beforehand. Thanks!

Why I want to be in the scratch mentoring committee?
I am committed to helping all sorts of scratchers alike! I've worked a lot in the welcoming committee and I've helped all sorts of scratchers with my shop. I give many New Scratchers signatures and I'd like a chance to teach my knowledge to newer scratchers
What I can contribute to the Scratch Mentoring Committee?
I can contribute a new signature and a banner for the Scratch Mentoring Committee. I feel like I would be a helpful addition to the team. I am willing to teach anyone about signatures and banners!
How do my credentials show my expertise?
My shop is one of the largest banner-producing shops on scratch! Many of our customers are satisfied with the work we produce and it shows to my ability and skill with signatures
Note that it is not required to specify to a certain point. Please make sure that your responses are better then mine . Good Luck!

Okay.
I have an idea maybe we should make something like siri
Maybe for a Collaboration, but I think that Siri wouldn't really belong in this type of place.

Why I want to be in the scratch mentoring committee?
I love helping out new scratchers, especially since when I first joined, I was alone and confused, and I don't want anyone else to start off like that.

I can contribute helping scratchers with art, coding, and social skills.
How do my credentials show my expertise?
I am very experienced, and a pretty good coder, and I could help lots of people with graphics and art, especially helping them out with the vector editor, and I could decently explain the bitmap editor too.

Time you can dedicate to Scratch Mentoring Committee: Depends- I CAN dedicate an hour or so a day if it is truly needed, but I would prefer to keep it to about 20 minutes or so.
SDS Helper?: Nope, and don't plan to.
Scratch Helper: No.
Extra Credentials: I opened up a tutoring studio that has fallen into disuse (I plan on fixing it up at some point.) , and I own and manage the Quickfix shop. (Quickfix: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/151016/ Tutoring: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/1151284/ )
Other: Nothing I can think of!

Why I want to be in the scratch mentoring committee? I want to be in the scratch mentoring committee because I think it will be fun, and goes along well with my dream to teach. I really enjoy helping others learn!
What I can contribute to the Scratch Mentoring Committee? A LOT. I can contribute pretty much anything you need time-wise. (Only in the afternoons or early mornings though.) I would also be willing to do any art you would need, such as thumnails or whatever. I am not allowed, however, to use cubeupload so anything I did would be in project form.
How do my credentials show my expertise? As mentioned earlier, I love to teach, as the tutoring studio shows. I am planning to do a simpler version with more one-on-one tutoring and less “classroom setting”. I guess I'm not a genius at coding but I could help any new scratcher I can think of. Yup, that's about it.

I guess I would consider myself as both a Mentor and a Finder, as I've done both.
However, my time is limited, especially during the school year…. I'll try to be active though. I might not come on the forum here much, so if something comes up that you'd like me to do, could someone drop me a line on my profile?
Thanks!
EDIT: Preferably not waffles.

We have two different jobs available.
The first is the finder who's job is it to find new scratchers and ask them if they would like to be mentored. If they say yes then the finder goes back to our official forum and posts a link to the new scratchers profile so that mentors can go there and start the mentoring process. . The training for finder is 1 week and requires daily activity.
To apply for finder you must
>Have been on scratch for a month
>Completely fill out the application
The second job is the mentor who's job it is to mentor New Scratchers. The training for mentor is 2 weeks long and requires daily activity
To apply for mentor you must
