I've played both, so here's comparisons….

ROBLOX:
Easier scripting
Create your own worlds with your own rules, and everything–all free
Good community if you know where to go
Can make almost anything
Moderation
Build!
Free!

MINECRAFT:
Mods/plugins
Also create your own worlds
Build anything
Can program in Java to create mods/plugins
Servers-you need to pay for them

You can't compare them, really. I'd have to say Roblox does have some points, such as more user-friendly scripting stuff, global moderators instead, and it's free. Minecraft, though, you can have personalized servers with your own rules, and it's just…. different. And you don't need to program to create your own world.

CONCLUTION (tl;dr):
Get both. xD

ROBLOX's engine is potentially far more powerful than Minecraft's - but that's because the point of ROBLOX is creating your own world with blocks and Lua scripting, while Minecraft's is surviving and building in a given world, with given parts and crafting possibilities. I also like the economical aspect of it - trading currency, hats, etc. It's only big con imo is that it's users never use the engine to it's full potential, and therefore not many actually fun, creative games are popular.

So overall, I say ROBLOX is better since it lets you do far more without mods.

First, this topic isn't minecraft VS. Terraria, it's VS. Roblox, and IMO, minecraft.

Reasons.
5. A lot more customizable, like building things that are insanely huge and complex.
4. Great servers, like shotbow network and survival games.
3. A single player experience like none other, the huge amount of things you can strive for is great.
2. The Fact that you can just play it for a while, and then have something vastly different to do in the next session.
