I have a question about topic I posted on.

I posted on (I am not the owner) a topic and Paddle2See Closed it, and said it was a rant topic. What exactly is a rant topic, and how do they effect the community in a negative way?

I have a question about topic I posted on.

A rant topic is essentially a topic whose purpose is to complain and rant, instead of having a constructive discussion.

I have a question about topic I posted on.

Here's an example:
For the disappearing text bug, if I said this:
Sometimes, the text disappears from blocks. It happened when I (insert action here). This is interfering with my projects.
that would be normal.

However, if I said something like this:
THE STUPID SCRATCH PROGRAM REMOVED THE TEXT FROM THE BLOCKS!!! FIX THIS NOW OR I QUITE SCRATCH!!! I HATE THIS!!!!!!!
that would be a rant.
