To get TF2, you need to download the Steam program. (You probably have since you're sharing an account, but IDK.) Once you get that, go here. Click Play Game and TF2 will automagically start downloading. It will probably take a couple hours to download: last time I checked the file is around 6 GB, so don't expect to play it right away.

Edit: Dang, Rev. Care to share any secrets on how you got where you are now in trading? I'm trying to climb the ladder but I'm still in the lower tier. If you look at my backpack.tf and see that my value keeps fluctuating that's because I've been moving money in and out through the community market, not because I keep gaining and losing money. So far I've made a little over a dollar through my method, though I was gone for a week and have only been able to actively participate in it for a few days.

Added, I'm Comrade Mackerel atm. Rabbit, might I ask, how much have you spent on trading and how much have you earned overall? I made a pretty good 400% profit off of $10 I put in (cashed it in for some games).

Not rabbit, but I have put a bit of money into the game. I put in about ten to become premium, which I realize I wasted entirely on dirty hats and weps. Had I bought keys, I would have everything in my inventory clean, and more. Then, I got an “investor” to put in $15 for me to trade with. I'm still not that close to paying him back but I do think I can be more successful with more keys to play with.

1. I got premium because a friend gave me a tradeable weapon.. I traded that up to an upgrade to premium gift.

2. It took me about 3 months to break the 100 refined marker. After that, it took me 2 months to break the 1000 ref marker, and another 1.5 months for the 2000 refined marker (where I am now)

3. The number one tip for trading I have for any of you, is be polite. So few traders are polite, and so few are decent people who actually care about the other guy in a trade. If you just be polite, and helpful, the number of trades you get will increase dramatically.

4. Don't be a “DON'T ADD ME. DON'T LOWBALL, OVERPAY BY 500% IN ITEMS” Guy. These guys are everywhere, if you can stand above them, you're more likely to succeed

5. And finally, do something that makes you unique. For me, I reverse all trades, it's like returning something. Say you bought a key from me, then didn't need it. I'd gladly give your items back for the key. That's what makes me unique. Feel free to rip that off me, or make up something for yourself!

Ive spent 0 money on this like rabbit and yet i am a premium on steam and tf2.

I am a small scale trader, mostly just play and use the drops to get more stranges and am polite, any trades where people offer junk, the trade gets cancelled.

I may consider becoming a bigger trader but i need to be able to get a profit.

My most valuable item is a Genuine Ap-Sap, which I got by buying the Portal 2 sountrack. It's worth 5 keys, but whenever someone tries to buy it from me I don't want to lose it and cancel the trade. I probably need to stop doing that if I ever want to get rich (I only guess the price of it is going to go down, if I sold it a long time ago I could afford 2 of them right now).

Also, I was about to sell my Tyurtlenek (a drop from the summer coolers that was uncraftable for a while and was priced at 1 key), but then Valve made it craftable and now it's 1.33

So basicly, I need to sell any high-value items as soon as I get them.

I won 10 keys in a raffle that's why it jumps up at one point. I bought maybe 30-40$ of games with tf2 items though, all won or traded up to.

Hovering at 90 ref which is for “essentials” (cosmetics I like for each class, basically. nothing flashy but I'm done with trading and I'm happy where I am)
