Anyone seen this? http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/4749
It's a Rasberry Pi running Mini vMac and it looks like the original Macintosh but 1/3 the size!
Is the disk drive the sd card port

p.s in the pic it looks like the mans a GIANT!
No it is not. It would have been better if they did put the SD cart port where the disk drive is like a real Macintosh booting from the disk drive lol.
yeah

I intend on making a server pi for filesharing/website hosting (not expecting anything great)
Ill install raspbian and openssh-server then ill do the rest on my mac.

  1. Strip out everything (may stick this up on dropbox depends how small i can get it).
  2. Install the server software.
  3. Install and configure the security.

Ive heard of a 6mb size on disk raspbian.
Ive heard of a 7mb ram usage raspbian.

So i thought "why not make a crazy lightweight server that costs less than £5 a year to run

My Rapsberry Pi runs my media centre. Much more environmentally friendly and it decodes H.264 natively

Fairly much on every one of his previous forum posts he can get hold of…
Copy-Paste (Although i wouldn't put it past him to have written a script)

I've dug out another SD card today to try something fun:

Running ResidualVM on my RPi. I want to get Grim Fandango running on my TV if I can.

The engine isn't packaged for ARM though so I'm having to compile it myself. It's hassle but it does make me feel like my geeky knowledge isn't entirely useless!

I have a question. Is it possible to program the Pi with BASIC, or LUA, or any good game dev language?? I'm probably an intermediate programmer. Once I hacked my own computer, because my stepmother put a password lock on it. I used brute force, and found out some is her last name, but the last 3 numbers were… well, the date my dad and her got married.

Hmmm, it looks like I can compile it and get it running:

But in the current setup I'm using the framerate is unplayable. Oddly it works better using a software renderer than using the graphics hardware. Perhaps tweaking some stuff will eliminate the problem. Either that or it's just not a good enough platform to run an early version of Residual on.

I would imagine that depends on the way you choose to setup the OS. What I was experimenting with (for example) was just a straight-up Debian-derived Linux distro. The languages available depend on the user's choice of software.

That's not really brute force, it's more guess work. Brute force would be trying every combination of alphanumeric characters until the password was found. I know what you mean though.

I've never had a locked machine to deal with. I've been lucky that way, I guess

I'm still a little confused on what Raspberry Pi is.
I'm guessing it is like a computer mod, possibly a tablet? I really don't know.

It's basically a credit-card-sized computer that you hook up to a keyboard, monitor and mouse and do cool stuff with it. It's memory comes of an sd card, which means it hasn't got great memory (although you can hook up a memory stick too). It's very flexible though;
people use it to power robots, cameras, cool flashing lights, loads of stuff. Have you heard of LEDs (of course), breadboards, all that physical computing stuff? The Pi is MADE for that stuff. click this link to go to the official
site!!!

Some cool sites:
The Pi Hut

Facebook link - if you have family safety it probably won't allow it. Cambidge raspberry Jam stuff here

Or google raspberry pi.

Hope that helps!!
