Seconded! What happened to the feature in Scratch 1.4 where you could click a boolean or reporter block and it will “say” the answer?
I wish that feature would be back, both in the online and offline editor. It really helped!
The workaround I use is to keep a spare Now every time I need to take a variable and use the set variable to block instead.Say block in the script area, place the reporter block in its slot and click it, so that the sprite I am working on says the answer.
(If I must get rid of the answer balloon, I take out the reporter block and click it again, making the sprite “say nothing”; you could use a Say for 2 secs block instead. Most of the time I need the answer to stay up while I work on a script.)

Hello Scratchers! I was just REALLY hoping that scratch would see this. I am a Mac user, and It would be REALLY REALLY REALLY NICE if (at least the Mac Version, the PC version would be nice too!!) you could use the keyboard shortcuts. Like Cmd/Cntrl S, Z, X, Q, Stuff like that.
And on the Mac, Instead of the In-app file/edit/tips, It would be SO NICE if these toolbars were at the top where all the other tools are. It just would look so much cleaner and much more beautiful!
And I dont know if scratch can, but instead of a In-App full screen, Can you try using Mac's built in full screen? It would just work SO MUCH better/cleaner.
A Question for anyone who knows - Is Scratch 2 supported on Mac 10.4.11 anymore? I cant get it to work. I have it working on OS X Mavericks on my iMac.
I Really love Scratch 2, but with just a few tune-ups it will be even better!!
And I Just had a thought….. It would be SO COOL if we got Scratch on the Mac App Store! We would have so many users and a even larger scratch community.

That happened to me, I just wasn't quick enough to pull out Snipping Tool and take a screenshot…

Windows 8.1 preview.
Wait, you can get the Windows 8.1 Preview? How did you get it?
Remember when I looked like this? I still do.

I've written a HowTo - “Install Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor on Debian (Linux)” - because I had troubles installing it (and solved it).
Just go to my blog fromScratchEd.nl for my (English) HowTo.

Dang, it requires an admin password to install
I agree with you, it would be great if they had a separate version for non-admin users or even better, no need admins! I really hope the team can consider this option for future versions. (Scratch 1.4 DID have that by the way)

Great work!
Problems:
In the graphical editor is no support for non-Latin characters (very old bug!)
Importing PNG files
Some untranslated strings in GUI
There is no indicator for the project file upload to the site scratch.mit.edu
Tested on Ubuntu 13.04

Hi.
When I open Scratch whit the icon of the desk and change of lenguaje (Spanish), this works well. But when I open Scratch using other way, for example “Start/Scratch” the program reappears in English. The program dosen´t save the settings.
Bye.

I found that sometimes I can't save a particular costume to a local disc, but I also found an easy solution. You can export the sprite, then use 7-zip to extract the .pngs.

You should be able to register your Scratch account into the editor. Isn't that a good idea? Then you won't have to type in your username and password anymore, and you shouldn't be able to use the backpack ( in next version ) without one. Is that a good idea? Or should you have the backpack WITHOUT an account?
Either way, you should be able to register your account into the editor.
