It'd be cool if above projects it could have a follow button like how on YouTube videos it shows the channel's subscribe button.

I'm bumping this because I support this but I never seen anyone think about this, besides it has been buried for a long while now so…

Biggest bump I've seen

I don't see a single place where you could fit a follow button. I think you can just click on the username and press “Follow”. After all, if you enjoyed a project, you'd want to follow them anyways.

I think the suggestion is referring to the page where you see the actual project itself. Like, there's a “Follow” button next to the love and favorite buttons, for example.

Oh.
But in that case, you can still click on the username and follow the person if you enjoyed their project. I don't think it needs to be moved onto the project page, unless people are too lazy to take another step to click on their profile and then follow.
But to be fair, adding a follow button next to their name or somewhere else wouldn't really do any harm, and doesn't seem to have any cons (other than space), so semi-support.

Alr, fair enough.

Sometimes you might want to say “Oh, I like this project, I want to be notified when there's more like this”, where you could have a one click way of showing this instead of having to right click, open new tab, follow, go back, which is a lot more steps

It could notify you whenever the project is updated (title change, dec change, maybe code changes but that may be hard to add bc you would get a notification every time it saves. Maybe making saving and updating different.)

From what I’ve seen the time a project gets updated is actually stored, so it could even have a time stamp

So for example


The project “pong” had an update to it’s description, at: 12:36 am

The project “pong” had it’s title changed to “pong title update” , at: 1:32 pm

The project “pong title update” had an update to it’s code, at: 5:36 am

The “project pong title update” had an update to it’s visuals, at: 12:36 am
