Scratchovision Song Contest 2015! Fear For Your Ear! - The results are in!
I told you I voted for yours, but if I'd known you'd be a sore loser, I probably wouldn't have.yeah, I bet the amount of votes for mine is -500 or 0.You will find out the results soon enough.Beboy, I thought your song was great, and yeah, better than my track. But looking at the results, it definitely seemed like it lost many votes due to the late addition.Show the results of the first vote! I want to see how much my song got!
Results will be revealed at the end of the final - this is to remove bias from the final.

Winning isn't everything. This contest isn't even supposed to be about the winner. It's just about having a bit of fun. If it didn't have to be a contest then there would probably be no winner.

They're here!
Results: First Round

click for interactive version
So here are the results for the first round. They're pretty self-explanatory, although some analysis can be made:
Results: Final

Unsurprisingly, Retro Something won. Congratulations, SilverMedia!
Conspiracy? and Back Once Again came joint second (hmm, another joint second) while fatal crash came third and A GLIMPSE was relegated to fourth. Congrats to all - you will receive badges next time.
On with the analysis:
Notes
Again, congratulations to SilverMedia! Last year the idea of remixing the winning song didn't work out so well - should we keep that or do something else for the winner? Or just have the badge to indicate the winner?
Now, here's something I've been wondering - should I hold another Scratchovision this year, or should it be kept yearly like the actual Eurovision? This was fun and it would be nice to have it again in six months and keep the same people instead of forgetting about it.
Also, I won't be changing my signature to promote the results in sympathy for Iwata. If you wish to promote it, that's up to you.
Reviews
I may as well let you see what people reviewed your songs as. I'll keep them randomised and anonymous unless the authors want to be credited.
This was an experimental option and it seems like it was appreciated, so I'll keep it next time.

Results: First Round

So here are the results for the first round. They're pretty self-explanatory, although some analysis can be made:
- Some tracks got a lot more +1s than favourites. That's standard, but it's interesting to see which songs people preferred as runners-up.
- I warned that late tracks would miss votes, and it's clear that that's happened with Beboy's track. As I have access to the full votes (I won't publish these unless there's excess demand) I can see that only three votes were received following the addition of Beboy's track to the vote. So Beboy, you successfully received one third of all possible votes.
- I'm not sure what else there is to say.

On with the analysis:
- The final is done to limit the options and see if anyone has changed their mind. Interestingly, 11 people voted (legally) the first time, but only nine the second, although they weren't the same. Only one person changed their favourite vote, although one person voted as “REDACTED”.
- Um yeah that's all I've got

- 4/5 amazing
- “Really awesome. Not only did it involve 80s song elements and retro lyrics but it sounded a lot like a cheesy pop song. Everything just fit so well.” | 5/5 too good, disqualify it
- “THIS SONG. I love the groove that it gets, the vocals, the lyrics… idk if SilverMediaProductions will ever see this but their singing is great! I also love those little melodies that go on oh my god. This was the first song I heard and it's a great pop song (and I was actually expecting the rest to be more like this–making me a little disappointed
) This song is really well done.” - veggieman001 | 5/5 too good, disqualify it | favourite | final vote - 5/5 too good, disqualify it | +1
- 4/5 amazing | +1
- “This song is kind of weird and at first I didn't really like it but the tempo is good and the use of vocals is done really effectively in the track, becoming both a centrepiece as well as a background instrument that complements that rising synth melody. And then the shift also does wonders for keeping me interested. However, it feels like there should be… more going on.” - veggieman001 | 3/5 decent | +1
- 3/5 decent | final vote
- “It seemed like a unique way of throwing vocal clips together to a raving crow, bassline, beat, and treble loop. Pretty good.” | 3/5 decent
- 5/5 too good, disqualify it | favourite
- “I love the whole ”four-perspectives“ thing, and each part of the music does seem to reflect a different personality. It's very meaningful. And and it also progresses to get very catchy! I love it. Best song ever.” | 5/5 too good, disqualify it | favourite | final vote
- 2/5 meh
- “This piece is nice enough, but it doesn't really seem like it fits with the rest of the songs and it's not really easy to compare it to the other songs. I do like where it goes melodically though. I guess maybe it would fit more with vocals? I dunno.” - veggieman001 | 3/5 decent
- "this sound hilluarios " | 5/5 too good, disqualify it | favourite
- “I have not heard the original, but this is interesting. Very noisy which is pretty cool but it again seems like it doesn't particularly fit with the theme (besides being retro, but I mean of Eurovision). Overall it seems like the track is trying to decide whether to be melodic or noisy, and it doesn't really ever settle.” - veggieman001 | 2/5 meh
- “Conceptually unique. You could have improved it by making it perfectly fine in the beginning and then progressing to a fatal absolute crash.” | 2/5 meh
- 4/5 amazing
- “This track is lovably retro! I really like the beat and what the 8-bit synths are doing, and the vocals are good. The main thing I don't like is that it mentions that I should vote for the song. But it's pretty great.” - veggieman001 | 4/5 amazing | +1
- “I +1'd that track because it seemed retro, for one thing, and it also seemed like a quality track because you can see how a bunch of random treble/bass notes can come together to make a pretty good song.” | 3/5 decent | +1
- 2/5 meh
- “Upbeat, interesting melody, nice synth settings. I dig it.” - veggieman001 | 3/5 decent | +1
- 2/5 decent
- 3/5 decent | +1
- “This track is dramatic and exciting. I like what it does melodically and the beat that it gets going. Although it doesn't quite fit with the theme either, I think that it's definitely the most well-done electronic track here and it deserves recognition for that.” - veggieman001 | 4/5 amazing | +1
- 4/5 amazing | +1
- "I +1'd it because " | 3/5 decent | +1
- “It was interesting, but I feel like it just needed more effort. All I could really hear was four notes repeating over and over with some other stuff in there.” | 3/5 decent
- 3/5 decent
- 4/5 amazing
- “Somewhat boring, not particularly retro, not the type of beat I enjoy from electronic music. Guessing that this isn't my type of music.” - veggieman001 | 2/5 meh
- 1/5 oh dear
- 4/5 amazing
- 2/5 meh
- “I have never heard the original. This version seems a little messy and hard to decipher…” - veggieman001 | 2/5 meh
- “That track seemed to need more effort, too. It was just the original with everything a little more ”echo-y“. I can't really tell the difference.” | 1/5 oh dear | +1
- 1/5 oh dear
- “It just seemed like a clip of the original reversed. Not really unique or anything, but clever for a really quick way to enter a song contest.” | 1/5 oh dear
- “Not much to say about this one… it seems to almost be purely noise which isn't really in my ballpark (but I know a few people who'd like it).” - veggieman001 | 1/5 oh dear

gratzzzz SilverMedia !!!
I'm not too sure about the remixing. Last year I wanted to do a remix but couldn't find the time, but I'm not sure if other people were in the same situation, or if they just didn't want to remix.

Also congrats SilverMedia! Can't wait to remix the track. I'll probably update the site tomorrow to reflect these updates.
