Hi everyone,
I would like to make a 2D game from birds view (pretty simple for graphic and moving around, as you need only turn left, turn right, forward, backwards)
and I'm trying to find out a way to make a flashlight, that could be used in dark passages. I do know the trick with black borders with black background, but I would like to have the area actually illuminated, e.g. something like https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/55037906/#player , but mooving with the player's character instead of mouse. Is something like thiss even possible on Scratch? (Prove me it's possible. Save the Scratch)

Make the project like the one you made a link to, but make the flash light sprite
go to [Sprite goes in here v]

Hope this helps

Well… I thought about that, but then I saw the truth… I do not understand how the auters gets the dark, slightly how he gets the light.
And I do not want to just copy everything without knowing what the project acctually does, becouse, besides it being meaningless, I could not chnge it to my needs (for example to be cone instead of circles, moving with the character, as mentioned before,…). So if somebody would take all his patience to explain how that awansome project works to me, I would be so happy.
So, the answer is, yes it helped a bit, but still I have no clue how it acctually works. And without knowing that, I can't move on. Thanks anyway.

I suggest you first make a draft of your project without taking care of the flashlight (all visible).
Then to try out the trick you found.

Maybe the flashlight stuff will be more clear with this example.
