Well, on a thread showing off my new signature, someone took my signature, edited it, and took off my art signature and then posted it back on the same thread. I'm trying to get the person to delete the post but so far I haven't gotten a reply. Is this art theft? And if so, should I just report it or what?

In my opinion,he should've kept it on.

So i think it constitutes art theft.

Yeah, I think I'll give them a bit to take it down, but if they don't I'll report it.

No, not really, but they took my watermark off, which to me is tantamount.

He posted it to the same thread and said it was just “his” version and never claimed he created the original image. He probably should've removed the signature, but, as he said, you can't actually read it very well and he didn't know that it was a signature.

Editing off your signature from your original artwork is pretty much denying you the credit that is due to you. To me, that seems wrong. If it is not removed voluntarily, I suggest that you flag the user and explain the situation.
