I've noticed that most of the remixes on Scratch are the exact same as the original. Whenever a remix goes unchanged, someone looks at it, says “oops” and goes to the original. The remix gets lots of undeserved views. There should be an alert saying something like, “Your remix of __ was not very much changed. Please add more to projects from now on.” If a Scratcher does too much irrelevant remixes, he or she should not be allowed to remix any longer.

No support. Instead, just report the scratcher, and after a certain number of reports, the Scratcher gets banned.

That's really harsh, especially when a large number of scratchers already have a lot of these remixes. Just report them, problem solved. I don't see why people don't do that in the first place, that's why we have these remixes at all.

Support for it to not allow remixes with no change (although there's another topic for that), and show a message about the rule if someone tries to. No support for an automatic ban from remixing.

People and especially the original project Scratcher can report the “copied” project, if they can hold proof. The Scratch team reads every report. Other than that Scratch, unlike what you thought, isn't a perfect world. Unfairness happens here, and it's best to let it be.

Its true that there are scratchers that remix projects without changing anything. But disabling remixes isn't something that will be implemented. Here's why:

Several people want to be able to lock their projects so that they are read-only, and other people can't see the code to copy their scripts, sounds, or artwork. However, the motto of Scratch is “Imagine - Program - Share”. By putting a project on the site, you give anyone who sees it the right to see your code, all data in it, and potentially copy it. Part of the whole goal of Scratch is remixing. If you do not wish to allow this, then you are welcome to publish the project on your own site (once the downloadable Scratch 2.0 comes out).

If someone is copying a project without making changes, simply report them and the Scratch Team will take any appropriate action.

We've had several discussions about ways to better insure that remixes are “valid” - but it's not an easy thing. Having an automatic check that looks to see if *any* change has been made should be possible (and that would be a big help by itself!) but moving beyond that things get complicated and may require human intelligence and judgement. Trying to spell out how many pixels need to change on a costume - or how many scripts need to change - seems pretty unrelated to how much creativity or thought went into the remix. Which brings us back to where we are today - use the Report button if no changes have been made.

No support. First: banning people from remixing is too harsh, every scratcher deserves to remix. Second: Just report projects that are copied.

Just report any remixes that seem like no creativity or thought was put into them.
It seems like it starts to require human common sense to determine whether a remix is valid, so no support.
