Can comment posting be turned off on profiles of users with usernames less than 5 characters that have not been active?
I have noticed there are a lot of old inactive profiles with very simple short one-word usernames, like @the and @And .
I think comment posting should be automatically be turned off on profiles with usernames less than 5 characters until they share a project.
This may seem unfair at first, so I'll explain why: I see lots of spam in the comments of these profiles, often sentences made up of usernames @like @this . Even worse, many of these comments seem to be not actually directed at the user! I think the Scratchers that do this probably think just because the user has not been active in years, the user will never be active, and therefore the user will never see the comment! We can't be sure, though. And if the user does come back on, they'll see all these comments on their profile about nothing but their username, which might be insulting to them.
So I just think this would prevent spam.

(Swallowed by an evil kumquat who was just taking a walk in the neighborhood of evil kumquats when they saw a garage sale where they bought a plate which they used to eat but they discovered that it leaked and they went to get their money back but the sale was over so they went in the house but the door was locked so they got their key but it didn't fit so they went home to use the key on the right door which was their own door and then they decided to swallow a signature for no reason.)

Well, again, it would be turned back on if they shared a project! But I guess maybe it should also check to see if they have not changed their profile picture. And how about REAL users with less than 5 characters (even though it is rare…)

What if they only posted on the forums? (very, very, very rare). Would they have to make a project? If so, they could just share a project with a blank background and the scratch cat in it.Well, again, it would be turned back on if they shared a project! Okay, maybe it should be only if they haven't shared a project with more than a blank background and scratch cat, favorited a project, loved a project, followed anyone, accepted an invitation to curate a studio, followed a studio, commented on a project, commented on a profile, commented on a studio, changed their profile picture, typed in their “About me”, typed in their “What I'm working on”, posted on the forums, or followed a discussion, and their username is less than five characters. What if they only posted on the forums? No support. It doesn't hurt anyone, so why should it be stopped? These people are all inactive, so they won't mind.

But if they have not done much, then nobody would invite them to curate a studio.
No support, anyway.

Did anyone tell you I was a Time Lord? You should know. I live in Fourtrees, with my good friends Germany, England, America, and my fellow pokemon Skitty and Delcatty. We go to Hogwarts and battle Titans.

Actually, that's not always the case. Someone might invite them to curate a studio to But if they have not done much, then nobody would invite them to curate a studio.see if they're a real person.

Hardly ever, and it most likely wouldn't happen.

Actually I meant to stop spam in the comments section. However, this topic is more than 2 years old, so I'm not sure if I still stand by this anymore…Ehh… No support. Authough they may be useless, it isn't really against the community guidelines.

Probably this topic got found again because I linked to it in a reply to a topic suggesting a notification for being mentioned in a comment.

No Support. Really, it isn't harming. They probably made those accounts for fun. Besides, they don't violate anything. Please know the difference between real users and joke users.

This doesn't seem like much of a problem and I've never personally encountered it, so no support.

And all the world over, each nation's the same,
They've simply no notion of playing the game.
They argue with umpires, they cheer when they've won,
And they practice beforehand, which ruins the fun!
