I'm in a bit of a pickle // Need help recovering projects off of dying computer
I need a bit of help. I had an old computer that ran Windows XP, and a while back it started dying off. We switched over to a Mac. But I want to recover some of my old projects off the original computer. It can't be connected to the internet anymore, so I can't upload them. I was planning to get an external hard drive for the projects, but I need a way to access the "My projects" category in the 1.4 program. (Outside of the Scratch program itself)
I had my version of 1.4 on my desktop if that helps.

Okay, I've done this a few times before, especially when I switched from having everything on my family's computer to my flash drive. Just follow these steps:
And now you have your projects! To make move projects quicker, I'll tell you a neat trick. If you hold down, then you can select everything and move it all at one time. :)
I hope that this helps! Also, don't be afraid to ask any questions!

- If you know where you installed Scratch, just skip to step 5. If not, then I'll tell you how.
- Right click the Scratch program and go to properties.
- Go to Shortcut, and copy the Target. Here's an example of what you may get:
“C:\Users\Galileo\Documents\Ernie's Folder\Scratch\Scratch.exe” “C:\Users\Galileo\Documents\Ernie's Folder\Scratch\Scratch.image” - That isn't 100% of what we want, so lets trim the fat and find out where Scratch is. Here is what you really need:
C:\Users\Galileo\Documents\Ernie's Folder\Scratch - Do you see where that came from? Now, paste the new shortcut into a file manager and you'll be inside Scratch's Folder.
- At the top, there should be a folder named ‘Projects Folder’. You'll find all of your projects there.
And now you have your projects! To make move projects quicker, I'll tell you a neat trick. If you hold down, then you can select everything and move it all at one time. :)
I hope that this helps! Also, don't be afraid to ask any questions!
