Post really stupid programming things here, programming jokes and puns, and just overall funny stuff related to programming.

when camel case just doesn't work out.
for example, it looks just right as myFunction, but swagLocationSystem just doesn't look right.

As a long time Scratcher, I have found new meaning to the name “Scratch”: for me, it means to “scratch that itch”, to come back again and again to realize new ideas in this toy language, even when I'm capable of creating my projects in real programming languages years later. It's a friend that helped me to pursue programming and get me to enjoy its fruit. I'm certain many others who have walked this path as well have grown fond of its importance in their life.

“You do know that you end sentences with periods, not semicolons, right?”
“And why are you using so many parentheses?”
Edit: “And why so many greater-than and less-than signs?”

Ummmm… “Our new client is using IE4. They said the loading screen is broken. Just fix it; it's probably a simple bug”
It's IE Collection running on a Windows XP IE6 VM. Please ignore the discrepancies in the version dialog.
It's not our fault! It's Mikerowsoft Wandoze Interrnets Ekspooer's fault!
Introducing bugs into our code to make it work for IE4 would probably break it on all other websites and cost many thousands of dollars of developer time…

Forgetting the two spaces around brackets when making a bash script.
And then apparently [1 is not a command.
