so i found this post in some website i probably cant speak of
After the release of the first Space Jam in the 90's, the Looney Tunes got popular again for a bit. At the time, Star Trek TNG was also going strong. So this story was almost inevitable.so yeah if anyone knows about like this neverending story please tell me
Back when the internet was young, “social media” consisted almost entirely of “message boards” or “bulletin boards”.
A common trend on these boards was to post a “Neverending Story.” This was a thread where one person posted a story prompt. Another user started writing the story, the next poster wrote the next part of the story, and so on for eternity.
One such board started a story titled “Bugs Bunny vs. The Borg.” Most of these Neverending Story threads lost momentum, petered out, and eventually died. But not this one. BBVB gained a committed following, with talented contributors returning to continue the plot (and a few contributors continually inserting their pet sub-plots). Some really informed Trekkies and also cartoon history scholars got involved, teasing out themes that only super fans would find. In the end, the story was entirely fleshed out, given a conclusion, and ended up being novel-length. Someone edited it and then posted it as a downloadable or printable book probably in whatever version of Microsoft Word was available at that time.
The Plot: Wesley Crusher is watching classic cartoons in the holodeck when the Enterprise comes under attack by the Borg. A subsequent glitch causes the toons to come alive and be able to exit the holodeck without disappearing. The toons can access hammerspace, operate by cartoon physics and logic, and they begin to go up against the borg. Due to being indestructible and defying ordinary logic, the toons seem to have the upper hand. But then the Borg assimilate Elmer Fudd (Wocutus of Borg) and Wile E. Coyote. Now they have access to toon gizmos and powers, and the tables turn. The battle goes on for a while and has many twists and turns, but eventually the toons win. They are sentient beings and cannot be returned to their fictional world. Star Fleet identifies an unused planetiod that would be sufficient for them to reside. They briefly shed their skin and show that, inside, toons are pure balls of light. They all merge and, as a single entity, reform the planet into a toon world.
Themes and sub-plots: Elements of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” came into play. The Borg re-created The Dip as a powerful weapon against the toons. Non-Warner Brothers cartoons began to appear in the plot. One sub-plot revolved around the cast from Duck Tales (also a popular cartoon in the mid-90's) went on a quest to rescue the infants in the Borg nursery (shown in the TNG episode where the Borg were introduced). Every once in a while the Looney Tunes Dodo would wander through a scene, and all logic and reality would break down. It was explained that the Dodo was essentially a chaotic god-like being. Some writers would spend their posts explaining how toon powers a physics worked, and this was extensively explored. Other posters went into the history of cartoons or explanations of the lore and technical aspects of the Star Trek Universe.
It was not a perfect piece of literature, but it was a massively undertaken and impressive love letter to the franchises from which it borrowed.
Any chance any portion of this still survives 25 years later?
