Songs We're Making and Creating Part 2: Revenge of the Music: Prepare Your Ears
It has to be over 13:02 to be twice as long as UnrestJust use original version of Idol and claim it as 10DIt's not long enoughjust use “after the war”And I'll be sure to make the next album's submission at least twice as long purely for you to rant about!You're welcomeThanks! 19. Kitchen Magician - “Unrest”The first thing I noticed with this song is its length, and I have to admit, I thought, Aw man, 6 minutes long? And it was too long, I was right. But more on that later. The song starts off with a nice classical guitar pattern, and I have to admit the progression sounds nice. But when you start to make the song more “heavy,” it doesn't work with the noteflight classical guitars and electric bass, and your odd drum parts don't help. The drumming does even out after the fill. It just can't go anywhere when you don't put in any dynamics and you keep changing things around. Honestly, this could be split into 2 or 3 songs. As far as the composition goes in terms of “metalness”, I'm pretty sure these parts would sound pretty awesome if played by heavy metal guitarists. But it just doesn't work with the current instrumentation. 4.5/10
(only 9:45 or so, I think)

I'll get out the vocoders…Hmm…. Send the backing track for me to rap on? It's easier if there's a beat. Then, electronicify the rap! heh heh hehHow'd you want to do it? You send me your rap vocals for me to produce with or should I send the backing track for you to rap on?Sure!Could I help produce? It'd be fun!I think I'll do an electronic rap. :3I'm doing hardcore. :3 What with CN12 upping the length and nama considering experimental noise, the next album is going to go off the walls and I don't think I'm ready for the post-Scratch genre.

Nah it's cos of the 10 minute ones on here. They're not bad but it seems like it'd be easier for people to listen through the album if each track were shorter.Oh, you're doing that just because of my song, right? The next compilation will have a per-track limit of something around 6 minutes

personally, I like long songs that are well written because I feel like the interludes, intros, and random fills here make an ordinary song special
though, i won't lie, long songs are almost NEVER catchy, and being catchy can be just as memorable as being technical and thought out

@CN12 One song per artist
@mythbusteranimator I enjoy quite long songs as well but seeing as this is a compilation meant to showcase a variety of Scratchers, it makes sense to have shorter songs so as to not give too much time to one person and to allow it to flow better. Of course, exceptions could be made to the limit if something goes a slight bit over it.

let's work on something together like Wasting My Hate Oh alright, I'll just have to make it at the maximum possible length and epicness.
First, we need a really catchy riff

It’s such a little thing to weep—
So short a thing to sigh—
And yet—by Trades—the size of these
We men and women die!
