Where does it say that?

What kind of broomstick does Tonks have?
JKR has stated this in some interviews and it is also on the HP wiki.

And the answer is quite simply a Comet 260.
I knew it wasn't in the books.
But you're just too good!

Which is the first book to use the term “Apparate”?

Heh, that's a tough one. My best shot would be in the Chamber of Secrets, although it could have possibly been in the Philosopher's Stone. If I recall correctly, it was used by Dobby?

Er… you don't have to be a jerk about it. Plus not everyone reads every post and he could have just been agreeing with you. @_@
What the heck is up with your hostility?? I was simply saying that both our guesses were the same, so the fact that he thought so too meant there's more of a likelihood that the answer was right. You don't have to be the jerk all the time, wandering into conversations like a headless chicken who ain't got an idea of what's going on.

That is true. JKR makes her characters so realistic - that's one of the things that really gripped me about HP. Like you say, Voldy has a proper motive. And even Harry and Ron's behaviour over the years is fantastically portrayed, whether it be when they first come to realise girls as romantic interests, or their hormonal mood swings.
Yaknow I get the whole “He was conceived of a love potion” thing but aside from that I think his proper motive is about as real as Hitler's, which is, insanity, or the nonexistence of one
this is super uneducated to say (the thing about hitler)
hitler totally had many motives
you gotta understand that eugenics was the thing
i remember reading an article maybe a month back about a guy back in the early 1900s who was convinced that he should father a master race
and hitler wanted to raise the german's standing up again
they were the laughing stock of the world
saying hitler had no motive (or that his motive was “insanity”, which fyi is a totally bigoted thing to say, as hitler has never been diagnosed with any sort of mental condition) is as uneducated as saying that there is no difference between fact and opinion!

That bit is understood: His love was as unreal as Tom Riddle Sr's love for Merope Gaunt as she used love potion to get to him. Hitler is proof that such evil people do exist, so doesn't that make Voldemort's behaviour realistic in comparison?
Hitler did have motives (sprouting from the crucifixion and so many other things), so does Voldemort (protection of his integrity, the Deathly Hallows, etc.). Voldemort is a pretty plausible villain in terms of his motives therefore.

Yeah, I agree. It is indeed hard to live up to the expectations she has set with the Harry Potter series, so it maybe an anti-climax.

However, I'm sure many fans will not mind an alternate universe if it means the return of HP, regardless of the quality of the 8th book.
why in the heck would it be alternate universe in the first place

By that JKR has said a disconnected series to this one, or one involving James and Sirius' generation.

I have read the books and love them! They are brilliant books.
My favourite characters are:

1: Lord Voldemort (I particularly liked reading the story of his past)
2: Dumbledore (So funny and random, such as the passwords for his office)
3: Fenrir Greyback
4: Remus Lupin
5: Sirius Black

Interesting choice! Greyback totally creeped out some people in the movies.

I don't think Dobby used the word then. He just did it, same as Dumbledore in Chapter one of the Sorcerer's Stone. I think the first time it's mentioned is in book 3, when Sirius gets into the castle, and all the students sleep in the Great Hall. Some kid tells her friend that maybe Black can Apparate.
Or actually, it might have been in CoS, but Ron uses it when they can't get onto the platform, while rationalizing borrowing the car, because his parents can Apparate.
