But now that i think about it, Rick Riordan will must likely have that type of ending unless he is making another series after Heroes of Olympus. I mean, he leaves cliffhangers at the end of the 5th books of a series to show that it's not over. Maybe, half the prophecy is answered in the Blood of Olympus and he's trying to lead us into another series. But, he could have also left some clues in the earlier serieses and we have to figure them out. Personally, if he did leave clues in the books, we might not have noticed that they might lead to the prophecy in Blood of Olympus.

I totally agree. I think at least one of them will die. The prophecy says “an oath to keep with a final breath” which hints that someone will make an oath that they will keep, even if it means dying to do so. However, there was nothing saying that whoever makes that oath is one of the main characters…

Also, it is said that Frank's life will burn short and bright, which hints that he will die at a young age. I think that he will have to burn the stick, which will defeat Gaea somehow. I don't know how he would be able to use the fire made from his stick to kill Gaea (or at least help-there's no way he'd be able to do it all by himself).

I think the “oath to keep with a final breath” thing is Leo. He promised Calypso he would return to the island, but he won't be able to.

A Summary of The Blood of Olympus:

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen-all of them-and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood-the blood of Olympus-in order to wake. The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it might be able to stop a war between the two camps. The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

I would cry my eyes out if Leo died. Probably everyone is going to kill me for saying this(

), but I really don't like Percy too much. I would much rather have him die. But alas, I feel as if Leo is really going to die, and he's going to make it to the island just as he dies.
