Is there any way to make a Scratch extension in which you can use a SNES USB controller to control a character in the game?

You could try the Gamepad extension (should work with most gamepads)

I'm trying to do the same thing. The buttons work, but the D-Pad can't be detected.

I don't know.
Try remapping the D-Pad to WASD or arrow keys.
Idk how to do that though..
