This is off topic, but the Scratch Team is very busy. They have to moderate a site that has 37,067,053 users, and there is only 48 Team members, some of which are busy developing Scratch.

The Scratch Team is not forcing you to stay. As others have mentioned, one must read the Terms of Use and accept them in order to use Scratch. If you can't accept them, then leave Scratch. It is your choice to stay.

This is true of any website, even those which act maliciously. If you don't agree with something they're doing, then don't use the website.

Exactly, if you do not agree with the terms of use or the privacy policy, then you shouldn't be using the website. If you have private information on unshared projects, it is your fault for putting it there.

Do you REALLY think the Scratch Team expects EVERYONE to read the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and ect.????

You are supposed to read them, if you recall when you joined. It only took me 5 minutes to read both, and I clicked on all of the other links

For them to change the privacy policy, so we don't have to worry about this anymore.

Why are you worried about it? The Scratch Team is a team of trusted adults. It's not like they're going to leak your game to the world. If you don't want something to be seen by the Scratch Team, simply don't put it in a project.

Pfft, the ST adults are probably just 25 year olds who hate kids

I'm pretty sure there are members over 25, and I honestly doubt that they would want to work for a website made for kids if they hated kids…

I reported a project that was insulting to me, they took it down in a week. It takes a while for the Scratch Team members to check the report as so few moderators are running a large site, they also have to run an investigation and deal with lots of spam mail. Also, they are working on the website currently. This is not valid proof of ST breaking the community guidelines

In case you didn't know, the Scratch Team designed and created a whole coding website, accessible to everyone in the world for free use online and with multiple extensions and projects to create, discuss, and share with other people. If you are criticizing the Scratch Team and their sacrifices for you and to keep the community safe, then you shouldn't have accepted the terms of use and privacy policy when you joined their website so like

As a moderator on the Scratch Team, I can address this suggestion from a position of experience. We aren't going to share your stuff to the site that you don't want seen. But we do need to be able to look at unshared projects for a couple of reasons:

1. Projects can contain material that breaks the Community Guidelines - and that project may have been shared to the site for some period of time before it was unshared again, either by the project owner, or automatically because of reports from other Scratchers. We have to be able to see that project in order to decide if a warning message or other action needs to be taken.

2. Projects can contain stuff that is illegal or uses our servers inappropriately. We need to be able to see those projects so that we can remove them from the site.

So it's necessary for us to moderate the site and keep it safe for Scratchers - and we will continue to do so as needed. If you want to make completely private projects, I suggest you use one of the off-line versions of Scratch and keep all of your content on your own computer.
