I am excited to announce the beginning of an ambitious project here on the platform- the creation of a multimedia horror series that will be titled "DIVE!"
~
Information has been given out, though minimal, on the following projects (showing small leaks/art based on the series as well as brief information about the project), though this is a formalized version on where you can find posts on this thread regarding AUDITION VOICE LINES for every character thus far (these may be subject to change with the addition of future characters), a synopsis on the series, and additional information that contributors will need as well as a ROUGH (subject to change) schedule on how we will be making Part 1 (please reply to threads if you are a VA by putting your auditions in the "AUDITION REELS" post, and there will be additional posts for OTHER questions in areas.)

VA: Voice acting the various characters that will be featured in DIVE.
-Production: Anything that adds to the physical series of DIVE- art, animation, photography, and horror elements would be appreciated.
-Sound and Composition: Creating sounds that will go along with DIVE- OSTs, music usage, ambient noise, and other action sound.
-Scripting: Helping form dialogue and the order of events which will occur in each part of DIVE.

Voicelines: Ellis Mitchell

Ellis Mitchell(she/they) is the overarching protagonist of DIVE: Part 1.

Ellis is a junior student at Bowling North High School and is a member of the swimming & diving team. Her main stroke is butterfly. They have a major conflict- themselves. Ellis is a perfectionist to almost a dangerous point, and has been struggling with improvement in her sport, which Ellis herself defines as the aspect that her life revolves around. They are secretly unhappy with where they are, and she holds much regret for how she treats herself and even how it affects others- specifically her twin brother, Zachary (Zach) Mitchell.

Ellis's voice usually sounds a bit disinterested, but it's really just so she can mask her own discontent. There are moments where they brighten up, but it's usually in talk of swimming, or while in the company of Zach or Miriam, her best friend. They feel trapped by the person and image Ellis has made herself to be and feels pressure not to quit, even though it is negatively affecting their mental health.

Zach, concerned for his sibling, confronts Ellis after practice (winter break) on December 30th. He's transparent with her and understands their problems more than anyone else. It pains him to see her slowly deteriorating because of her pressure and expectations- and feeling as though she can never improve, never become “a better version of herself”. Ellis is furious, and wasn't ready to hear the truth. Any lines throughout THE ARGUMENT should be ready with a furious and vulnerable tone.

Ellis informs Zach that he should leave, and Zach retorts that he can and will, because she was going home with Miriam anyways. Miriam left practice early so that she could catch a flight out of town with her family for winter vacation.

She is trapped.

Ellis's time is cut short by the gradual infection of Australine. After her intense argument with Zach on December 30th, she gets locked inside of the aquatics facility. Ellis's gradual exposure to the chemical starts to make them feel unwell, and they beg Miriam to come pick them up, phoning her without a reply. For the next days, Ellis is trapped in the facility for the rest of the school's winter break. Miriam, being out of town, never received the call. She begins to be turned into the substance, an agonizing way to go. Any lines throughout this section should be read with an urgent voice, as well as donning an exhausted undertone.

Miriam returns to Bowling and panics upon receiving Ellis's SOS message. She immediately drives over and is able to enter the facility, but Ellis is nowhere to be found…until…

“THE ARGUMENT”

(This scene can also be your audition for Zach. If you wish, you can play both characters in your audition. Remember that these are rough lines and I will be editing them before the official script is done.)

Ellis: Zach, look, I'm busy. Gotta get my equipment. We can talk at home…

Zach: I- Ellis, we can't talk at home, I need to talk RIGHT NOW, what was that back there?!

Ellis: That was private! You- wait…you were…listening to me…and Miriam?

Zach: Ellis, it's not like you weren't talking where EVERYONE could hear you.

Ellis: That was for MIRIAM!

Zach: Well it might as well have been for the whole team! You- you don't think people know about all this?! About how you're so…angry with yourself?!

Ellis: Zach…I swear, it's more than just that. Okay? I..get that you're concerned. I feel terrible for making you worry. I…I'm ashamed of it. But…you can't fix everyone's problems. Someone had to say it to you…I know what's going on- you do too- I- just- just please. Leave it. I'm trying. I can't just get bombarded with the thought of it by you all the time-

Zach: I LEFT you alone! I BARELY try and talk to you about this! It's hard, yeah, but you can't just keep RUNNING away from your problems! You can't just get it all out in the water, it makes it WORSE! You don't GIVE YOURSELF a break, you don't let yourself do ANYTHING to get away from your expectations. People AREN'T judging you for who you are. Or what you do-

Ellis: You don't HEAR any of the things that people say! You don't get to see things through me! YOU'RE NOT ME. You don't give people the opportunity to put those expectations on you anyways. You don't care so much about what other people think.

Zach: Ellis, I-

Ellis: And you just think that it's so EASY to stop thinking about it. I've been…failing. In everything. I-I mean, I haven't improved in what, two years? I've been getting hurt . I've missed almost all of this season. I don't…talk to people anymore. I'm just at home. I can't do anything. Being alone with yourself, that's my idea of being trapped, Zach. You're DIFFERENT than me, that's fine. And I know people are disappointed. I'm disappointed. But maybe I don't have to just quit all this! You're guilting me into this-

Zach:- I'm just trying to help…I…wasn't ever gonna make you to do anything!

Ellis: You thought that if you left then I'd do the same thing.



Zach: You always talk about how this, all this, is for other people, but…but you're being so SELFISH. You really think all MY decisions are for YOU. Don't expect help when you don't want it. You can just go and drown in your own little petty - perceptions - you've created!

Ellis: Zach-

Zach: Go home with Miriam.

Ellis: What the- I DIDN'T MEAN IT.

Zach: I don't care! You don't need me anyways. You said it.

Ellis: ZACH-

Zach: I can't. I can't do this with you. Just…go.

Ellis: Yeah. You know what? Haha…YEAH. I'll go. Back to the lockers. To the water. Because, you know what? I think I left something behind in there. and even if I tried, I can't get it back anymore.

DIVE: Week (5/6/24) Updates

Hello everyone,

This weekend, I am going to do my best to post descriptions and voice lines- HOWEVER, I've run into a small setback that may cause me to have less productivity with the line work. Sadly I have two new finals thrown my way and I may not get my art piece done with the addition of needing to practice and study for these.

Here is a list of what is confirmed to be out this weekend:

-If you scroll down in your main menu/GUI of Scratch to the "About" section (below featured/community projects, it also has stuff for educators, etc), you will see several small sections at the bottom of the screen, and next to the first section (ABOUT), you will see (COMMUNITY).
-The second small text under the community section will say "Discussion Forums“, and if you click on this, you can create a new discussion. Make sure to give your forum a category (in my case, I used ”Collaboration"). You can add, edit, and quote posts in it and also have others follow the post so they can get notif updates. (Please do that for this one too!)

Thank you for letting me know! I'll be sure to follow the new account, and change the contributor status when you move over there.

Additionally I apologize for not getting out what I said I would. My English teacher threw us a final book and essay and it was expected to be done by tonight, so I needed to prioritize my work. Now that grading is basically over, I can definitely put more time into it after Tuesday.

DIVE UPDATES (Submissions)

Hello! I understand that not all lines are up for each character (I promise I am working on this as I get through the last week of the school year, practically), however, due to some questions from you guys and just clearance in general, I want to make sure that submitting lines are very clear.

HOW TO SUBMIT VOICE LINES FOR “DIVE”

-For each character you submit for (one or multiple parts depending on which lines you use), please put a sound into the blank project and NAME the sound with that character's name.
-You can do this by taking a sound file that you create (you can use mp3 format or other formats) and uploading it to your sound library in your Scratch project.
-I would appreciate it if you could try doing a variety of characters- even just a few lines each for an audition would be appreciated, but it's not huge deal if you can't. (Everyone should be out soon I promise!)
-Once you have comprised all of your separate sounds for each character and named them with your audition for each character, you're pretty much set. You don't have to make the project so that when the flag is clicked you can hear the sound- as long as you have the sounds IN the project that is perfectly fine (and keeps it a bit more private.)
