TW: existential crises
Ever heard of glitch in the matrix stories? It's where a weird thing that you KNOW happened un-happens, when something disappears from a shelf for a week then reappears, those sort of almost-supernatural stories.

My glitch in the matrix story:
I was driving to a field trip for my school, way down in Houston, and I was bored on the car drive (2-3 hours). I started talking to my friend (we'll call her Ann). I LOVE existential philosophy so we started talking about the "simulation we all live in." Ann and I had a theory that explained everything from mental health to politics to basic physics and beyond. When we got to the hotel, I had the idea to record our ideas. I recorded the theories on my phone and we thought nothing of it and went to bed. After we'd done the activities for the trip and were driving home, I decided to play back the recording... and nothing happened. It didn't work. All the other recordings in that app worked fine. It wasn't that there was no sound, the recording just wouldn't play. I still can't explain it by anything other than that the programmers of the simulation don't want us spreading our findings.
I was at school during STAAR camp (basically when another grade is testing so we have to do random stuff that is kinda surreal in and of itself) and then weird stuff started happening. I was bored so I was messing with a stapler and I stapled a staple right into my fingertip. I pulled I out instantly but started to worry, so much so that when I stood up I actually fell over. My teacher thought I fainted but I was sure I hadn’t, but my vision was fading and bright blobs were appearing. I ignored them and kept walking to the gym. By the time I’d gotten there, my vision had cleared and I worked up the courage to look at my finger. There was no blood, scab, or mark of any kind. My friends remember me stapling my finger, but in a dreamlike way. That whole day feels like a dream but I’m 100% sure it was real. I have no idea what happened at school that day and I don’t think anyone does.
