~~~~The Missing Prophecy~~~~
Frostedtalon was in a forest. She was deep within it, and determined to find food to feed her clan. Recently, there had been less prey, more fighting, and more sorrow for Rockclan.
Suddenly, she felt tiny paw steps through the soil. She could sense it was a mouse. She might've been old, but she knew how to catch some prey. She waited on the ground silently, and then pounced on the creature! With one swipe of her paw, the mouses life was taken. "Thank you, great StarClan for this meal," whispered Frostedtalon to herself. "I will share it with my clan in kindness." She picked it up in her jaws, and started home.
Then, she saw her grandmother from StarClan. She felt the mouse drop from her mouth. "Grandma? I-is that you?" asked Frostedtalon in surprise. "Hello dear." Replied her grandmother in a sweet, buttery tone. "Yes, it's me. But, I bring a message from StarClan. 'It is to be, what's not seen, with in the burrow, oh so deep.'" Frostedtalon closed her eyes for a moment. But when she opened them again, her grandmother was gone.
Frostedtalon suddenly opened her eyes, breathing heavy. She was laying in Rockclan, her own clan. She suddenly remembered what her grandmother had told her. She got up, and started ran to tell her clan leader, Darkstar what she had been told. But, once she reached the Highrock where her leaders den was, she fell, and fell, and fell, off the Highrock! She was gone.
The next morning, Bluepaw woke to the sound of an elders cry. He rushed to the elders den and found Snailfoot sobbing slightly with Frostedtalon's body on the cold, stone floor. "What's going on in here?" asked Darkstar with a boom in his voice as he entered the den. Then, his eyes looked like they had expanded. He was in pure shock. "I-it's Frostedtalon!" cried Snailfoot, her voice cracking. "I found her like this at the bottom of Highrock. She- she..." "No!" growled Darkstar in reply. "No, no, no! this can't be! We've lost to many cats and found to little food!"
He growled quite loudly. But, he sighed in understanding, as if he had already calmed down. In a hushed voice, he meowed "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey meet at Highrock. bring Frostedtalon." The elders nodded respectfully as he walked out, up to Highrock.
Soon enough, all the cats older than kits arrived. His head hung low, in sorrow, Darkstar meowed "Frostedtalon, is dead."
The crowd gasped. "How could this be?" asked one. "How?" asked another. The crowd started to murmur. But, one voice rose above the rest. "How dare you, Darkstar!" the voice hissed. The crowd all turned to look at one cat, a warrior, Lonehawk.
The crowd gaped, their jaws opened wide, and a few quickly muttered things like "Lonehawk? Challenge Darkstar?" or "I feel pity
he doubted his own Clan leader." But, Lonehawk didn't care. He didn't even give a thought to them
"I beg your pardon!" growled Darkstar in return, angry at his warrior. "You heard me!" hissed Lonehawk in response. "You dare do this to us? First, you find out our prey is low, do nothing about it, an now your telling us an elder fell of Highrock that you didn't stop? Shame on you!"
The crowd gasped. How did he know she fell of Highrock? Darkstar suddenly stop growling and looked at him in pity. "You... you pushed her off. Even I didn't know about the Highrock in this. But you did." Darkstar meowed calmly. "Traitor!" hissed a warrior. "Shame on YOU, Lonehawk! Not Darkstar!" growled another.
Lonehawk gasped. He was being booed at, and pitied. He had never felt like this before. He had always been praised, adored, and trusted.
Lonehawk suddenly ran away into the bushes, where no one could see him. "Hush!" meowed Darkstar. The noise stopped and everyone turned to him. "I'm as mad as you are, but please, return to your dens. It is already nightfall."
