Hello. Welcome to Adopt. Don't Shop! This is a studio made to make the message clear: If you're getting a pet, adopt one from a shelter. Don't buy one.
If you would like to have your thumbnail here, make a project and comment it in this studio, just don't spam. Only I(AwesomePuppy18) can change the thumbnail, though
People who I trust and maybe some others will become managers
If you would like to curate, just ask! Please don't add non-related projects.

What's the big deal?
You may not think of it this way, but not adopting dogs/cats/other pets from shelters could KILL them. Many people don't get pets from shelters because they shake. Or because they have rough fur. Or because they don't look pretty. Maybe they don't. Even wonder why? Pets in shelters were either turned in by owners(which I'll talk about later) or were found as strays. If they were strays, they may have never had a real home. Some pets are born stray. Not all stray pets just run away. Some don't have a choice. By buying pets, you are getting a pet that would probably get adopted anyway. Some pets get killed in shelters. All because people shop and don't adopt. Some pets will get killed if they are in the shelter for more than however many days. They get limited amount of time in shelters. I'm not going to spend the whole time talking about me, but there was this one dog that I loved, but we just couldn't get him. Every time I went to the shelter I walked to him. I'd sit there, wishing we could have a big dog. We went back several times that month, and no one ever adopted him. About a month after we first saw him, he was gone. There's a possibility he was adopted, but he'd been at the shelter for a long time. I don't know weather or not someone saved him, or if he was killed. Anyways, adopting is saving pets. Some pets have disabilities. Doesn't make them any less valuable. You may be a pet's only chance. Adopt and don't shop.
What can I do?
You can do a lot! Start raising money. Ask friends to. Spread the word! Also, on here you can make projects on why you should adopt.
You said you'd talk about pets getting turned in?
Yep! Many think of pets turned in as 'Their owners didn't want them'. I did too, until my mom told me that just because a pet was turned in doesn't mean they weren't wanted. The dog I talked about earlier was turned in. Not because his owner didn't want him, but because his owner couldn't take care of him. If Skelington(That's his name) WAS killed because he was in the shelter too long, imagine how his owner would feel. Imagine if you had to turn your pet in for whatever reason, then found out no one would take him/her. How'd you feel then? What I'm saying is if that is the case, you are making their owners feel better, knowing that someone will love them and take care of them.
Why am I passionate?
I am passionate about this because I've always been disgusted at the thought of animal abuse. I cried when I heard a story about someone abusing their cat. I don't even really like cats! Animals are as valuable as humans. They may be annoying sometimes, but they still deserve a wonderful life.
Fun fact: Adopting would also be cheaper
Also, if you physically can't take care of a pet(it's to big, etc.), don't get it. You may feel sad, but it won't do them good if you can't take care of them.
Hashtags(managers can add!):
In conclusion, adopt. Don't shop. Save animals. Be kind.
