Fall leaves are ever so beautiful. But this one green leaf, that is still on the tree, is the Pono Leaf. Please don't ask what a Pono Leaf is, you'll find out soon enough.
It was a Friday afternoon and Sana, Momo, and Tsuki were all walking home from school, admiring the leaves of fall.
Tsuki looked at the sky, "It feels like summer! When will it be cool out?"
"Oh, Tsuki!" Said Sana with a smile. "It's only the beginning of fall. The heat will go away soon and be replaced with coldness!"
"That's a weird way of saying that..." replied Tsuki.
As Sana and Tsuki began to argue
Momo heard a strange sound. She peered behind a tree, another tree, another! But there was nothing but leaves behind all of them. Sana stared at Momo "You coming?"
"Y-yes..." When Momo got home, she wrote in her diary, "Sept. 30, 2001 ~ Today when me, Sana, and Tsuki were walking past Sakura park I heard a strange noise that sounded like someone stepping on dry leaves. I looked behind all the trees, but nothing was there. I know it was probably just someone
walking around the park, CLOSED park, but" Before she could finish
writing in her diary, her Mom called her for dinner. After dinner, the phone rang. Momo's mother answered, and dropped the phone.
"It's for you, Momo."
Momo looked up, startled, "That's weird, I don't usually get phone calls."
When Momo picked up the phone, all she heard was a faint whisper. She could barely make out what it was saying. All she could understand, was the word, "Run!"
Momo whispered to herself, repeating what she had heard, "run..." She closed her eyes "Why?"
Momo then heard a faint noise, a voice, saying the crunching of leaves means danger. She slammed the phone down.
The air in the room suddenly grew cold she breathed heavily and turned around she heard a noise of pots clanking "W-whos there?"
"Sweetie? Who are you talking to?"
Momos mom asked, "MOMO TAKAHASHI?!" Momo ran out the door she could hear echos of crunching leaves around her as she fled the sound grew louder and louder! Momo felt like she was going to burst! "Please let this be a dream please let this be a dream!!" Momo opened one eye, and then the other. It had all been a dream?
She sat up and looked around, she was on a bench outside of the park. "Momo? Hey, you okay?" Tsuki asked, and slapped herself. "Why did I let that happen...?"
Sana looked confused. "Let what happen to Momo?"
Tsuki raised her head.
"DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD?!" "No but you sure said THAT out loud." "Why are we friends, Sana?"Momo got up and started walking home. She didn't recall living in a city. Did she forget or something? "Momo? Where'd that girl run off too now?" Momo ran to another bench and started to cry. Momo fell asleep again. This time, she would not be afraid. "Come and get me!!" The crunching noise was deafening. It strangled her, and she tried to break free, but she couldn't Momo screamed.
"What's going on?!" Momo screamed.
Suddenly, a glowing pair of eyes appeared in between two trees. Then another pair appeared from between another pair of trees. Then another, and another, and another! Soon, Momo was surrounded by glowing eyes.
*Why would I tell you? Then you would know that I plan to hold you and your friends captive so I can eat the power you 3 have, and that the only way to stop me is to figure out and say my name!* said a deep voice, not seeming to be coming from anywhere in particular. Clearly, though, the owner of the voice was not the brightest one around.
Just then, Momo heard screams from her left and right. On the left was Tsuki's voice shouting at their captor to let her go. On the right was only what she could assume was Sana through process of elimination. However, neither seemed aware of the presence of the other 2.
"Let them go!" Momo shouted. "What did any of us ever do to you?!"
"They've done plenty to us," the voice replied in a deeper voice. "But you've done nothing."
"Then why are you doing this?!"
"Because nothing is something!"
Momo tried to think of the name a her captor but she had no idea.
"Wait, I know this person, Had--" Sana was interrupted by what Momo could only believe was a car crash.
Sana rushed to where she thought she heard the crash, but there was nothing there.
