For years now Mer and Humans lived in peace. Until that one day. The day it all changed. The ruler of the human realm had passed without a heir. So the first in line was the rulers greedy nephew. He commanded the Mer be hauled out of the sea to be sold at low prices. The Mer proclaimed war on the human realm and used their magic to create a unbreakable border between their realms. Except it wasn't unbreakable. 6 talismans were distributed among the Mer that allowed those six Mer to cross the border with out harming it or demolish it.
